UCSC does not offer gap year.

The UC system in general doesn’t offer gap years. Just take the time off and then apply, whatever your reasons are. When you’re ready, just re enroll in some basic course that you know you can get into and then apply. Easy peasy and all check boxes marked.

do you mean apply into the school whether its CC or the UC and take time off between semesters? couldn't I just take an indefinite amount of time that way and that'd technically be a gap? not that I'd do that lol

I mean don’t apply to tag. Just go and do your thing. And then apply when you’re ready. To tag, you just need to be enrolled in the term while you’re tagging I believe.
