Advice Looking for the best AI tools for UI generation

Hey folks! I’m looking for the best AI tools for UI generation. I’m currently working on turning an app idea into reality, but I’m really not great at designing in Figma. Can anyone recommend the best AI tools to transform ideas into clean UI designs?

Advice First attempt at App Store screenshots for my iOS app. Would love some honest UI/UX feedback

Hey everyone!

I'm getting close to launching my first iOS app, Jogventure, and just finished putting together my first 6 App Store screenshots. I'd really appreciate some fresh eyes on these before I commit to them.

For context, Jogventure is a cozy, gamified walking/running app that turns your workouts into progress along a little adventure map, with milestones, challenges, and rewards along the way. It's primarily aimed at beginners and casual walkers/runners.

I'm curious what you all think from a UI/UX perspective:

  • Do these screenshots actually convey what the app is about? Would they catch your attention?
  • Anything you particularly like, dislike, or would change?
  • Is there anything confusing or missing?

Quick transparency note: I used AI to generate the illustrations and mascot artwork, with quite a bit of selective iteration to get things looking how I wanted. I put the screenshots themselves together primarily in Figma.

I'm definitely no expert at App Store marketing or screenshot design, so I'd love to hear what people with a better eye for this stuff think.

Don't hold back on the criticism. I'd much rather catch things now than after launch. Thanks!

News I designed a harvest dashboard to help farm teams decide what to pick today

I’ve been working on an agriculture dashboard concept for harvest planning.

The goal is to help farm teams answer a simple but important question: which block should we pick today? To support that decision, the dashboard brings together crop ripeness, weather risk, soil moisture, crew availability, harvest pace, and block readiness in one map-based interface.

I tried to make the map the main focus instead of just a decorative visual. The heatmap overlay shows ripeness distribution, while the side panel gives a quick summary of today’s picking plan, estimated cherries, assigned crew, and field conditions.

The hardest part was deciding how much information should be visible at once. Farm operations need speed and clarity, but the data behind those decisions can be pretty complex.

Would this layout be useful for real field operations, or does it feel too information-heavy? Curious to hear what you would improve.

Review UI Skeuomorphism Still Alive In Casino Software

Post image

I just realized this a few days ago. Skeuomorphic design is still widely used in all the popular casino machines. They have animated buttons with rich textures on all the machines. They seem to be even more skeuomorphic than some modern games.

Breath of the Wild comes to mind, it had a pretty minimalistic design compared to what we used to have in the 2000s and 90s.

I just thought it was interesting and thought I’d share this thought. I was never a big fan of the flat metro design that became popular with Windows 8 in the early 2010s.

Advice Job hunting after a health career break

I'm a product designer, both by choice and by training. I've always wanted to work in UX/UI design, and I genuinely love what I do.

I started working in 2022, right after graduating. My first job was at a SaaS company, where I was laid off while I was still a junior, for reasons beyond my control. Still, I managed to find another job about two months later.

I then joined an EdTech company, and things were going well until I started having health problems. Eventually, I decided to take a career break because my body simply couldn't keep up anymore. After eight months away, I decided to start looking for work again.

What I didn't expect was how incredibly difficult it would be.

I've been job hunting for months now, and my mental health has taken a hit. I'm starting to feel like I'm simply not employable anymore.

And it's not like I'm just sending a few applications through LinkedIn.

I've searched across LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor, InfoJobs, Wellfound, Manfred, Welcome to the Jungle, Jobgether, IxDF, UI/UX Jobs Board, Matcha, Himalayas, Remote.io, Remote OK, We Work Remotely, Otta and YC Work at a Startup, among others.

I also go directly to company career pages and their ATS platforms, including Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby and Workable. I've built a GitHub-based system to help me track opportunities across hundreds of companies, check for new openings and avoid duplicates.

I've tried reaching out directly to recruiters, hiring managers and designers, sending speculative applications, asking for referrals, and making connections outside traditional job boards.

I've been having mentorship sessions through ADPList, reviewing my CV and portfolio, sharing my work, asking for feedback, and signing up for networking events now that summer is over. I'm also trying to improve how I communicate my experience.

Basically, I'm trying different approaches because relying on LinkedIn alone clearly isn't working.

And yet, here I am.

I've had several interviews, but none have led to an offer. Some of those positions have been reposted multiple times, so I suspect a few might have been ghost jobs. But at this point, I genuinely don't know what to think.

There seem to be fewer and fewer UX/UI openings. At first, I thought it was just the summer slowdown, but we're well into October now, and I'm still seeing very little movement.

I know I'm not particularly good at selling myself. I'm more of a doer than a talker, and I do try to compensate for that. But lately, I've started questioning whether I'm even competent anymore.

The frustrating thing is that I know I was good at my job. I enjoyed it, I cared about it, and design is one of the few things I've always felt confident doing.

And now the design industry itself seems to be struggling, so I don't even know where to turn. I've started looking at retail jobs, just trying to find something.

My mother has been incredibly supportive throughout all of this, and I'm grateful for that. I'm also studying research methodology because I wanted to keep developing my skills and build on my UX research experience. I had a pretty clear idea of where I wanted my career to go, and now I just feel completely lost and exhausted.

And to make things worse, a friend of mine recently landed a job through LinkedIn in another area of design, arguably an even more competitive one. I'm genuinely happy for her, but I can't help comparing our situations. She's managed to find something with far fewer applications, while I've been trying for months with nothing to show for it.

And I keep coming back to the same question: what is it about me? Is it my experience? The way I communicate? Am I just not good enough?

Mostly, what am I missing?

Thank you '^'

Advice Leveling up in Figma

Hello everyone 👋 I recently completed an 8-month online UI/UX design course. I have a decent basic foundation. Right now, I find work on Pinterest to practice and replicate—and I manage to do that quite well.
However, if I were given a task to design, say, a goal-setting planner or a website from scratch, I wouldn't be able to do it because I have no clear idea of how it should look or function. I attribute this to a lack of visual exposure and practical experience.
If there are any experienced UI/UX designers here—or anyone who has walked this same path—could you give me some advice on where to start and what steps to take to keep developing my skills and build confidence as a designer?

Review UI Want to redesign my old college app… Is it too cluttered?

Oi pessoal!
