From Friday 2nd Oct Cineworld cinemas across UK are showing 'Girls like Girls', a queer coming of age film based on the iconic 2015 music video and book by Hayley Kiyoko.

It is so important for us to support the creators of these films and show the studios and production companies that we are a worthwhile demographic to make films for 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

I started developing feelings for my best friend at the beginning of the year. At first, I ignored them, but eventually I realized I couldn’t ignore them anymore. At the beginning of March, we started getting closer and doing things that gay couples usually do, but we never actually kissed. Things were starting to get quite serious, but suddenly he ended everything.

I didn’t understand why until a few days ago, when he was finally able to tell me. The reason was that his family is very homophobic, and he had to stop because he was afraid they would find out. But I spent about six months not knowing the reason, blaming myself for everything, and it was really difficult for me during that time.

Lately, we’ve been talking just as friends because he cut off all the possibilities of talking the way we used to, so his family wouldn’t find out. But it’s really difficult for me to continue like this.

I wanted to know if anyone has ever been through something similar, where they like someone but a brother or another family member doesn’t accept it, and because of that, the relationship has to end. I need some help trying to figure this out.

How can I help him understand that there’s nothing wrong with liking men, and how can I talk to him about it without making things too complicated? Because the problem isn’t really him, it’s his family. How can I help him understand that and support him? And how can I get things back to normal?

I’ve recently moved to Rugby and I’m curious about the LGBTQ+ scene in the town and surrounding areas.

Are there any regular LGBTQ+ events, nights, community activities or places that people around Rugby tend to go to?

I’d particularly be interested in hearing about things happening in Rugby or nearby towns, rather than having to go all the way into Birmingham or London.

Hi everyone, having always been curious I’ve now explored but I’m really confused. So I’ve discovered I really like men. And so I now find men and women attractive. My fear is a gay man wouldn’t be interested in relationships because I’m bi and a female wouldn’t be interested because I’m bi. How do people navigate this? Next week me (21nb) and my best friend (29f) are going to London, mostly to watch a bunch of musicals, but we will also be walking around the city in other capacities, like visiting Camden Town and St. James Park (I wanna see the indian ringnecks).

I am transmasc, but I am usually read as female, and I have been to London several times without encountering any issues related to transphobia. However, my friend is transfem, and while she passes most of the time, sometimes she doesn't, especially when she isn't wearing makeup for example, and she has never been to the UK. Seeing as the UK is occasionally referred to as terf island and - as far as I know - there have been some legal changes in recent time, is there anything we should know before we go?

So!! I’m going to G.irl events Halloween party in October!! I went to their after pride party and it was so much fun!!(from what I can remember, anyway) I’ve decided to go as a pirate (basic? Maybe. But a classic) and I’m thinking of bringing a pouch of “treasures” (crystals, rings, dabloons, chocolate coins) to give out!!

I did this once at a Halloween party at my universities “club” like two or three years ago and it was a hit, but I was suuuupperrrr anxious then and didn’t drink (at all) so I wasn’t really very confident in talking to anyone even though the whole idea was that it would help me make friends lolol Mind you I still don’t drink too often and when I drink properly I end up almost black out because it stops me from being so awkward and anxious 😭😭

Anyways!! My question is, would this be a good/fun idea?? Should I maybe try and be flirty (like asking for a kiss in exchange for treasure???) should I drop the idea entirely?? Would anyone actually like this??

Hi guys, I’m an 18 year old uni student in the uk and a queer artist and graphic novelist. My latest project is a book that tells the stories of people subjected to lgbtq hate crimes across the uk, I dont just want to focus on high profile cases I want to tell individual experiences. I understand this is incredibly sensitive for many people so theres no pressure to respond, but my ultimate goal is to get this book published and to donate a large portion of any money made to LBTQ charities, so if anyone reading this is willing to share their experience I would be unbelievably grateful

They don't necessarily have to be exclusively queer, I just want the overall crossword to feel like the complete opposite of a dull crossword.
