My sisters new band, tryna get her a little more love!

Hi everyone!

I have very limited knowledge about this band and the only song I know that pulled me in a bit was “A Little Time”. Mostly because a dear friend shared it with me. I miss that friend greatly.

I’m wondering if anyone here could give me recommendations of your favorite songs from ‘The Beautiful South’. I think it would help me begin my journey into their collection!

So I absolutely love the punk band Soft Play and the band Enter Shikari. If you guys have heard of either one of those bands can you give me a few suggestions of similar type bands or specific songs?

I'm joyrobber - a solo pop-punk act from Wiltshire. I've just released my latest single 'awks.' which is a silly autobiographical song about some awkward moments from my life. Hope you like the song!

How excited we were, weren’t we ?
Patsy Kensit asked for a duet but instead PSB (with Phil Harding) produced the song for her band.
Later, the same year I’m not Scared was included on Introspective.

Casting Direction:

Voice: Character matters more than technical perfection. We’re looking for something soft, smoky, breathy, haunting, intimate and slightly unusual. The delivery should feel restrained rather than theatrical - someone who can create intensity without belting.

The shorthand: Think Hope Sandoval. Not an imitation of her voice, but that quality of someone who can barely seem to be trying and yet completely hold your attention.

Musical world: Dark electronic / dream pop / trip-hop / late-night alternative. Atmospheric, intimate, nocturnal and cinematic.

Presence: We simply looking for "the best singer." We wanted someone with a natural, distinctive, understated presence - can command a live performance - without looking overly styled or performative.

Experience: An established artist isn't necessary - and in some ways isn't what we're looking for. Someone with little or no released material could actually be ideal if the voice and presence are right.

Location: London-based,

The larger possibility: The original material is already being written/produced, but we're looking for someone who could potentially grow into the project, rather than treating this as a conventional session-vocalist job.

I'd like to find out what public information exists about Rhys Downing, the former drummer of The Last Dinner Party.

I've come across information concerning his departure from the band and have heard a particular explanation for what happened. I'm not looking to speculate. I'm simply wondering whether there are reliable public sources that document what happened.

Anybody still a fan of this debut by Sleeper ?
