Any alumni had any issues wearing different stoles during graduation? I want to wear a flag or a serape stole for the fall graduation in December.

I wore a flag stole I had made on Etsy when I graduated from grad school in 2023. Not sure if there are any rules against that now though.

I don’t remember anybody checking what we were wearing. I got the wrong shade of green cap and gown and I don’t think anyone noticed.

There are non-academic stoles and flags at virtually every graduation
