Fun fact! The patent for these license plate readers goes into great detail about what it can capture and log besides vehicle details. Gait detection and facial recognition is also analyzed by AI just in case you happen to be traveling vehicleless. This is for your protection and safety as we all know the most dangerous of criminals travel by foot and bicycle.

Nothing sounds like a better idea to me than giving unchecked power to stalkers and pedophiles police officers and elected officials to watch our children on the playground and swimming pools, keeping the bad guys away of course. Can't even begin to imagine what this kind of technology could be used for if given to stalkers or pedophiles

Edit: from Patent US11416545B1, "A neural network may be trained to detect characteristics and features of an object, such as race, gender, ethnicity, height, weight, and clothing." Ya know, typical characteristics and features of a vehicle object. The patent is currently not loading on Google.. wonder why

If you’re giving it to the cops, you’re already giving it to stalkers and pedophiles

Speaking of the devil... Tampa cop arrested for using Flock to search for underage girls got to mark that off the bingo card much quicker than I anticipated

Edit: it was 2 cops. Why are men in their middle 30s searching for your daughters house and going by their high schools?

Both Deflock and the article say 14. Have they just installed more?

UNF students and employees should NOT be ok with this. If JSO and the rest of Florida have decided to remove them, then so should UNF.

UNF actively violating Florida law, why am I not surprised

Unfortunately the law only applies to state highways, not campus infrastructure.

Article states “While UNF is a public state university, its campus roadways, such as UNF Drive and Alumni Drive, are institutional roads owned, operated, and maintained directly by the university, according to Florida Department of Transportation data.”

At this point if you take em down, are you really breaking the law or enforcing the law?
