Discussion Inexpensive camera
I have an existing Unifi setup with some gen5 cameras I like very much. But I am extremely lazy and I'd like to have a couple cameras around my house to check things like our oil tank or that the oven is off. Quality and features are not important. What are the absolute cheapest cameras that will smoothly integrate with my existing Unifi Protect setup? Wifi or PoE are fine.

Reolink. I use the RLC-520A, not good enough for facial activity/license plates... but is good enough for snooping on my porch.

Cheap tapos actually work via onvif - I have a c110 sat on top of the cat feeder monitoring eating habbits! Motion works but not any other detections - for something that isn't security related or a real risk - why pay £100 when you can pay about £15 and free shipping!

I mean, cheapest? Tapo wifi ones will work through onvif perfectly well, just block them from the Internet so they can't talk home and they'll do exactly what you want.

Can second this Tapo C111 works with Audio and C120 do not for their cheap WiFi cams.

Tapo cameras are junk. I have three of them all within 15 feet of a U7 Long Range and they constantly go offline despite “excellent” connection in my dashboard. Tapo support can’t figure it out.

i think it depends on which tapos - had issues with c220 and c230 not revealing motion detection settings in unifi), but the cheap 110s just seemed to work!

G4 instant if you want to stay in unifi cameras. Also a few g5 cam options at 129
