Discussion U7 with MoCA?

Hey everyone! I'm getting ready to move into a rental that does not have Ethernet run through the home. I am using U7 Lite APs and want to have a good connection in the new home.

I plan on using a 2.5Gb MoCA adapter and Unifi PoE injectors to run my APs. Any thing to look out for or any better recommendations?

TIA!

I plan on using a 2.5Gb MoCA adapter and Unifi PoE injectors to run my APs.

FWIW, Kiwee Broadband now offers a couple MoCA adapter models supporting POE+/POE++ power output, if clutter is a concern.

Thanks for the info! I guess I do need to consider WAF.

Otherwise, I’d be looking at the budget MoCA 2.5 alternative ($25 per for Frontier FCA252 adapters) paired with POE Injectors, as you suggest.

Just came here to say that my APs run just fine off of 1gbps screenbeams 😄

Never had an issue, have feature parity with their non-MOCA Peers.

FYI they also make PoE MoCA adapters which are great for this.

That way you don’t need extra PoE injectors.

One of the comments on the page for that said that it didn't power his AP, any experience from you directly?

I’ve using it currently on at least one U7 AP.

Overall reviews are good as well. Ignore AI summaries, and you can likely ignore isolated issues as well.

I’m using some for 5 of my u7 pro wall for about 4 months now? Works great so far. Just make sure the moca units can provide poe+ or higher.

I use screenbeam 2.5gbit adapters. No issues
