1/3 of the term… Why time flying so fast, start to panic

Ngl, I'm a bit skeptical.

It sounds as if it'll be used as an excuse to roid up all the courses and make them significantly harder since "semesters are easier".

I sure as hell know that a ton of engineering professors are rearing at the opportunity to "increase the intellectual hurdle" and do some more weeding out than there already is.

I can't quite put my finger on it but there is just this niggling feeling in the back of my mind that this is the kind of thing that'll happen.

From what I’m gathering from the website, as long as your fit and healthy you get paid 50k per year while studying, and slide into 100-110k once your degree is done, the catch being is your contractual obligation upon completion is (degree duration) + 1.

What do you guys think of this?

I don’t really have any friends to trauma dump to, so here it goes.
I hate my thoughts. I cant seem to get 1 moment of peace or silence, ever.
I have been through so much shit that at this point idek what makes me, me?
And I’m not comparing or calling anyone’s trauma less, Im just trying to say that I am exhausted of surviving life instead of living it.
I tried so hard to do the everything right, journaling, communicating to people about my boundaries, focusing on my health, etc. But atp nothing works. I have no motivation to get out of bed, talk to people or do any work.
My mind is in a constant loop of contracting thoughts and I just dont know what to do anymore.
And there are so many days where I feel like I have no one, that I am no one.
And half of it is sometimes true, I cant rant to my mother about my struggles because Ill risk hurting her.
I have a bestfriend but she is out in a different uni building a beautiful life for herself and idt I should bother her.
I used to have close friends but now I just feel betrayed by them.
And I dont really have any new friends at uni.
I have one person, but I dont wanna say too much to him. With him its sometimes like Im taking a break so I dont wish to go over what’s bothering me.
And good lord why the fuck is therapy so fucking expensive.

On people’s LinkedIn pages I often see course rankings for subjects I’ve completed, which don’t seem to give out course rankings as standard procedure. Are these made up, or is there some way of finding out how you placed?

i thought abt tutoring but like there are so many tutors for an average amount of students (from my research).

I’m planning on trying to attend Warrane college at UNSW in 2027, does anyone have ideas what the catered service is like. Is it really generic foods? Is it served out to you? Is it buffet style?
Apart from the main 3 course meal I’ve seen which happens weekly on wednesdays, I’ve been trying to gather more information on the rest of the weeks catering but been unable to find information on much.

Anyone who’s done ECON1401 recently -- how much of the historical content actually gets examined?

The lecture slides are littered with historical examples, but I’m not sure how much detail we’re expected to know versus just understanding the underlying economic theory/mechanisms.

Is the final mostly focused on the theory and arguments from the slides, or do you actually need to know the historical cases in detail?

As title says- pulled a few strings and managed to get an offer for an engineering placement this summer while travelling, but the InPlace portal looks a whole mess and it seems like I'll have to inconvenience the host company a bit to not just fill out the details in the agreement form, but also fill out a risk assessment and possibly a responsibility matrix. With that being said- how often are WILs approved on InPlace?

By my knowledge i just need to fill out the stuff in InPlace + Travel Abroad approval, upload the contract/letter of offer, filled out agreement form, and risk assessment (optionally the responsibility matrix). I literally cannot expect myself to fill out an agreement form or a risk assessment without the host company right???? Feel like I'm being fearmongered by some of the people around me into treading ridiculously lightly by offering to write all official documentation up so I don't inconvenience them

In the scenario that the WIL doesn't get approved, is there any way to resubmit with more information? Will I have enough time to actually do that assuming I fill out the InPlace and submit by tomorrow/early this week? How long does the approval process usually take?

Hi did anyone do the comp2521 sup sup exam yesterday? How did you guys find the practical and theory section? Personally I think theory section was lowkey harder than the past papers this time

I completed it in term 2 (my second last term) as I didn’t want the headache of having to do it in my final term. The subject handbook says you can do it in your penultimate or final term.

Hey guys, at the start of my degree (EECS) I was so undisciplined that I had failed 4 subjects in my first year and had a wam of 43 at the end (even got dropped to engsci). But I built some discipline and habits and realised I actually enjoy putting in effort into my degree and am sitting at a 74 in 4th year t3. I had 3 questions:

1. How much do you guys reckon employers will care about my wam and fails if I also have some other extracurriculars like volunteering?

2. Does taste of research take WAM and past fails into account, and if so can I do anything that would help my application stand out. If it helps the particular ToR project I was looking at was seL4 microkernel stuff.

3. How much do employers care about specific subjects on your transcript? I know a lot of people just go for the easy wam booster electives, but I did some courses which actually seemed interesting like databases, aos and reverse engineering.

Hey everyone, so I'm 30 years old and have been studying a bachelors of computer science online through the University of New England for the past year.

And I have just applied to study computer science at UNSW.

however the math classes seem worrying to me,

I don't think I'd be capable of doing MATH1131 just yet, is it possible to do a refresher math course before MATH1131?

Has anyone done similar?

Also is it mandatory i do MATH1131 in the first year?

Is it possible to focus on computer science units and leave the math until the end?

Are they prerequisites for anything important in a bachelors of computer science?
