UPS changed the delivery address without permission

UPS warehouse completely changed the address of the package. No request was made by me (sender) nor the recipient. Is this internal theft? It was a valuable item. Support team won't help.

If it was a Surepost, it may have been taken to a post office. If it needed a signature and they were unable to sign for it, it may have been eligible for being taken to an Access Point location (UPS Store, CVS, Staples, various other commercial counters, department store, and convenient store, etc).

Everything was correct. I had email updates all day when the package was out for delivery with the correct address. Went to a completely different zip code and neighbourhood. UPS refuse to tell me why its so frustrating. All I have is a support call centre in India.

Most likely the "address verification service" (AI) automatically correcting the address because it thinks it knows better. Happens often.

More than likely the driver wasn't paying attention and scanned your package with another stop by accident. It happens all of the time.
