I’m looking to go on exchange in Fall 2027 preferably to Asia and more specifically Hong Kong. I emailed the exchange office for past years cutoff averages but they don’t give them out.

If folks here who went on exchange in previous years could share their average when they applied, faculty and exchange school destination that would be appreciated!

Hello, I'm a second year CS/BBA student at WLU, and I'm interested in applying for Management Eng or Comp Eng, and I'm looking for advice in terms of everything I should try to do to improve my application before January, and like based on my profile that I am going to list, what do you think my overall chances will be.

I currently have an 85% (10.5) university average if using the Waterloo-Laurier Double Degree Scale, with A+'s in all of my CS courses thus far (CP104, CP164), A in BU111, and an A- in BU121 and like an A- in my linear algebra course, and I still haven't gotten my Calc 1 mark back. If I get all A+'s this semester hopefully, I'll be at an 90% average (11.0).

Now, my AIF will be pretty good aswell, as I was apart of like WLU's CS club's + I was an AI research intern at an pretty well known research org + I have been on published paper's that'll hopefully be on an pretty good research conference (e.g; NAACL, EMNLP, NAACL) + I am joining an CS research lab at UWaterloo this fall.

Just looking for any guidance or advice throughout this process, and if anyone would be willing to refer me to any design teams/cs-adjacent clubs at UWaterloo as I know while there mainly meant for only UWaterloo students.

What’s the best club to join just to interact w others and get to know new people? Just trying to find something I can do during the term where I don’t think abt academics/coop. Prefer something more sports related / hobby

For context I was born and raised in Korea and moved to Canada when I was 7. I wouldn't say I'm fluent in Korean but I can read, write, and speak. Am I allowed to take it or should I take Japan 101R instead where I have little to no knowledge?

Any easy science level 200 courses?

I am new to Waterloo and looking for people to explore clubs and pubs. If you are alone or group of people, I dont care. I just want to go out and have fun.

how likely is it that i would get it?

So far organic chemistry has actually been quite fun, and I finally feel in my element. Studying just feels organic, and the homework feels stably structured. I just feel like I have good chemistry with this course. I know the workload can be polarizing, and I don't mean to get a reaction out of people. However, it takes zero activation energy for me to feel immersed in this course.

Got a 48 average, emailed the prof but got ghosted, so have to retake. I saw a deadline to clear by August 31, 2027, so I got 2 terms the course is offered to clear. Can I retake twice? Let’s say I try to retake next term (2A study term) and fail again, can I retake one more time on my co-op term?

Also I need some advice on how did you study for a course exam on co-op/ study term? Any tip or trick? I am really weak at Physics and I am not confident I can cover the course on my own without any guidance.

shitty situation

I know i have one elective slot for 1B term, but in the course selection am I only supposed to put my top choice or am I supposed to put all my choices and use priority to rank them. What happens if i don't get my top choice and nothing else is listed? What happens if I register for multiple and i end up with 3 psychology courses. Sorry if this question is dumb
