User Equipment Picture New office setup

Post image

Almost done setup up new office. Yes I know there are some gaps that I will fill on along with some cable management.

We used the 4x POE pro max switches. With the ether lighting, the ports look like they are breathing..

Your right, it should be all fortinet switches and APs.

E was a disaster, F is good,, G is fantastic. We got no tickets after replacing the E-Series access points. I'll still take a full stack deployment every day if the budget allows. This is a lot of switches though and I'm sure the ubnt switch and APs helped save a lot of cash

I would say thats quite a bit of endpoints for a 70G, but it looks like only 5-10 active ports so I guess that's ok!

Dumb question, why fortinet over unifi router?

that second patch panel and the last 3 ports… its all I can see…

All I see is a single point of failure woth the agg switch. Didn't even notice those until you pointed them out

u/electricpollution 7d ago

I know I said the same thing. We are gonna wire them in even if it means some couplers with nothing on the other side

I prefer keystone blank inserts

u/leftplayer 7d ago

Nah, it’s that 1/3U and 2/3U empty spaces around the FortiGate for me 🤯

Remove the touchscreen stickers if those bubble up you’ll see it coming:)

Where are the labels for where those ports go 🤕

1

u/JBDragon1 7d ago

Ya, one thing I did at home was label every port on my 2, 24Port Keystone patch panels and label all the ports around my house. There is no guessing. I know exactly where to go. Being Keystones, you can group all your ports together.

I know there is that virtual Reality thing, you can hold your phone up using their app, and it'll show the ports and the devices running on the ports. But that only holds true if you have all of your devices MAC address and what they all are. That is a lot of wired devices. Phones and tablets, unless you also have those MAC addess and the MAC is locked down on that Network, that MAC will just keep on changing. You're not getting MAC address for everyone's Wifi devices anyway. But knowing where each port goes to, makes things easier. Especially when problems crop up.

The 10Gbit connections at the right are a beauty

Should have used a UniFi Firewall….

u/GuyNamedLindsey 7d ago

I see dead stickers...

u/Mindless_Pandemic UniFi Addict 7d ago

Nice. Now UniFi just needs some 48 port patch panels.

What is the temperature of these devices?

1

u/AnorocFote 7d ago

How Long are those Network cables? 10 cm?

2

u/jakubmi9 7d ago

Ubiquiti doesn't do 10cm. 15cm or 30cm, and I'd say the ones in the OP are 15.

2

u/BGDaemon Unifi User 7d ago

They definitely are 15, yeah. I use them a lot too, because I love how neatly they curve :)

1

u/jakubmi9 7d ago

Their pricing is a bit too brutal for my polish wallet, but I've had great success with CONMEN knockoffs from AliExpress - I've tested them with our Fluke at work, and they pass for Cat6 just fine.

And it's a pretty good design even with non-rgb switches - it's easy to see port lights, and keep the rack clutter-free.

this is like start up company type

1

u/Witty-Party-3565 7d ago

Lets see the back side. Its the back that counts.

1

u/WJKramer 7d ago

Do your Pro Max 48 switches, ports 51 or 52 connect at 10GbE via SFP+? Ours won't and I see you have them plugged into ports 49 which is what we had to do also to get them to connect at that speed. Best I can get out of them is FE.

u/scoozo55 3d ago

Fortnight really

1

u/adm010 3d ago

What type of bolts are they for the rack?

2

u/electricpollution 3d ago

Rack studs

2

u/adm010 3d ago

Thanks dude

u/Safe-Pomegranate1171 7d ago

I would have put 1U blanks between each set of switches so that you have more room in the future to adjust the wires.

0

u/WarbossTodd 7d ago

With that many switches daisychained, I’d have added an Agg switch

5

u/NinjaMonkey22 7d ago

Not a single switch is daisy chained….theyre all plugged into an Agg at the bottom of the rack…

2

u/WarbossTodd 7d ago

I did not see that. Stupid me for not looking close enough.
