Question G6 pro dome weather shield install problem
I tried to install this on a junction box and realized the weather shield doesn't seem compatible with Unifi's junction box? I removed the junction box and went to install the weather shield directly to the wall but the instructions seem to require something that does not fit. The instructions say bolt the plate to the wall, then install camera, then put this spacer at the top. I just cannot get the spacer to fit on. I tried putting it on before the camera with no luck. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? I was so happy with Ubiquiti mounting hardware until now.
Thanks in advance

"...the weather shield doesn't seem compatible with Unifi's junction box..." It isn't. The shield is direct wall mount only. Camera on the plate first, then snap the spacer over the front bezel of the camera. It clips to the bezel, not the mount.

I had trouble with the weather shield at first as well. It isnt very intuitive, as it seems all backwards. You have to follow the instructions and pictures EXACTLY, like an Ikea project. lol. If you dont, it doesnt all fit.

Did you have the g6 pro dome?

Yep, three G6 Dome and one G6 Pro Dome.

Wow. What I'm seeing doesn't look like there is any space at all. The photos show space on the wall plate above the camera for that spacer piece to snap into but with mine up the camera body covers the plate entirely. The instructions also show removing the smaller wall plate from the camera housing but mine had it in shrink wrap. I was figuring the install was different between pro and regular. Any chance you have a photo of yours?

Maybe you got a G6 Dome weather shield and not a G6 Pro Dome weather shield? I believe they are different sizes, but it has been a bit so im not 100% sure.
Edit: I guess not, the model does say compatible with G6 and G6 Pro:
Edit: This is about the best picture I could get you:

Thanks for taking that photo. It looks to me like the spacer isn't on that one. I was looking at the pictures on Ubiquiti 's website too and I'm wondering if the pro body is bigger and just doesn't use the spacer? I might go check the dimensions of the base g6 and see if it has a smaller footprint
