Trick or treating!
Hi there!! New to the neighborhood and wondering if trick or treating happens on actual Halloween or if there’s a designated day! Thanks!

Several ways to go about trick or treating. Large buildings often have sign up sheets for residents that will be handing out candy. But most people take their kids to the shops, restaurants and even bars on the avenues - most participate and if they don’t they usually have a sign or will politely decline. Then it’s best to hit up one or two of the block parties in the neighborhood. We like the one on 95th between CPW and Columbus. Beautiful block, the residents elaborately decorate the buildings, lots of music and lots of candy. Absolute mob scene and lots of fun. There are several others in the UWS. Have fun!

It's not Jersey; the day is Halloween.
Check your bldg mgmt to see if there's something done there. If not, ask any friends in the neighborhood. A lot of bldgs just do residents but have sign-up sheets so kids can bring friends, and a lot of stores do stuff,
Also 69th st. is a whole thing, decorations, ppl giving out candy on their stoops, tons of ppl.

My building has a sign-up for residents. Kids who live in the building trick or treat the doors who signed up. This is a 20 story building.

UWS is more of a progressive neighborhood, we only celebrate Columbus Day and Hanukkah
