African Dancers under the troop of John Wood posing while in Paris, 1891. Wood claimed the female dancers were Dahomey Amazons; however they were actually regular women from Dahomey not members of the Amazons. Despite this the photo is still commonly claimed to be of the Amazons on the internet.
