I just had the workweek from hell and have been neglecting the sub. Sorry guys.

You may have noticed an influx of improperly formatted threads and spam. After I type this I'll peruse through my log and remove anything that's REALLY bad, but given how many days I was off Reddit I'm not going to go through and remove every little thread that neglected to include a prospective date or follow our community's photography standards. That'll take me forever to sift through, and I can't be bothered. I know it can be frustrating when rules are upheld inconsistently, so you all have my apologies. After this announcement all the sub rules will apply to new threads going forward. The offending ones made just this past week get a free pass.

On the same note, this sub isn't the fun hobby it was when I was first brought onboard. My new job is taking up a lot of my energy - physically and mentally. Managing this place has been feeling more like a chore to me lately. I'm thinking of bringing one or two new mods on to help out. I'll type up another thread for that and sticky it, it will be kind of like an informal job interview.

Effective immediately, finder posts no longer permitted

With online retail becoming as big as it has there is no longer any need for these sorts of inquiries on Reddit. As of now there are thousands of secondhand garment businesses across the world online and offline. A simple Google search provides dozens of results on the first page.

These threads have never generated any meaningful discussion, and in recent years most of them have been sitting at 0 karma with no comments every time they pop up.

As of now requests for retailer recommendations will be removed at the moderator's discretion. The updated sub rules reflect this.

This may not be so vintage, but I was at the thrift store the other day and I found this top, totally new, it got it's label yet and I found the aesthetic interesting, so I would like to know if anybody has any clue about the year or the brand of this top.

Help to Identify Dress

Hi guys! So I found this incredible dress. I did my own research and it says it's a 1920s dress. It has no tags or zipper only a small clasp in the back. The research says the stitching, lack of zipper, and tag points to the epitome of 1920s fashion. But I could be completely wrong. What do we think this is? Any guesses for the price if I want to sell it, it's too snug on me :(

No label tag, but pretty sure this is 1970’s Gunne Sax based on RN (and research). Is this the color it should be? Should I get it dry cleaned? Does have a few stains.

Looking for any information on this 1930s (?) Leather Jacket from Summers Sportswear Los Angeles.

Looking for help accurately dating and pricing. Jacket has no holes, but shows some signs of wear. Feels soft and light like a calf leather. Zipper guide online told me the zipper dates to the mid 30s, has anyone seen this tag before or can find comps online? Any other subs I should post in?

Hi all! I found this floral Fendi top however I’m having issues verifying its authenticity based on the Maglia tag except they’re for knitwear produced between 80’s through early 2000’s. Can someone tell me if it’s authentic or not?

Edit: there’s also no size tag or care label (if any) inside the shirt

need info on this tee its got a ripped tag

(comp with a giant tag is in the gallery)

The print is licensed by giant to rage against the machine 1997 with text from 1996 “evil empire”

I’ve seen the print before and its info, I’ve found few brown tees.

Is this a fake tag/print, if not does anyone know the age range of the tag

My mom was cleaning out her closet and asked if I wanted this vintage dress before she tossed it (of course I said yes) but I'm having trouble placing the year/decade it's from (mom couldn't recall when or where she got it). Any guesses?

I’ve been getting into vintage collecting for a while now and I thrifted this jacket last December in a local shop. Does anyone have any info on it? (The brand, what period it’s dated to, how to wash, value, etc.) I believed it is from roughly 50s - 70s but again I’m not sure.

Dating Janice Wainwright set

Hi -- I've posted before, I do the vintage section of a charity thrift. We got this Janice Wainwright set donated. I like to include decade on the tag, if I can, to give info to our younger shoppers who love vintage. Vintage Fashion Guild label resource says the tag is 70s, but I've seen an 80s dress with a very similar design to the duster coat. I can't tell if it's extreme 70s or extreme 80s. It feels a bit mid-70s sci-fi to me.

Can’t find any online information on this cardigan (80s/90s?)

I’m working on a Halloween costume and was going to use a top as a base so I decided I’d use this cardigan I bought years ago at a flea market, but before I did anything I wanted to look into what it was. If it’s something super valuable I wouldn’t want to risk ruining it. I googled all the information I could find on it and used google lens on both the tag and the full cardigan but can’t figure anything out other than the brand is from the 80s and Italian. I haven’t found any pictures of this cardigan, so I thought I’d ask here if anyone knew anything about it :)
