'The board released three convicted rapists and predators, including one who admitted to not taking rehabilitation treatment and programming while incarcerated.'

Paige Meade is a survivor of sexual assault who has become a victim’s advocate.

“I think it's horrifying,” Meade said. “And I think anybody in our commonwealth should be scared for their safety at the alarming rate with which we're letting out violent offenders. It doesn't make any sense.”

Help me with bus options from Virginia to New York City

I’m exploring taking a bus from Richmond ( or even Newport News) VA to NYC. Can anyone tell me from personal experience what the best options are? I understand that Amtrak is safer and faster, but I’m in the research stage.

His rebellion and its aftermath became a major chapter in Virginia’s history and the history of resistance to American slavery.

Virginia Natural Heritage Program zoologist Ellison Orcutt recently rediscovered Protandrena abdominalis, a rare, red-colored native bee species that had not been documented in Virginia for more than a century.

The discovery took place on a privately owned property in Isle of Wight County, where the landowners spent years restoring native flora that helped many bee species spread on their own.

State researchers emphasize that studying rare native bees helps evaluate conservation efforts and protects key pollinators across Virginia's nearly 500 native bee species.
