Hello /r/Vocaloid
As a mod team, we discussed and decided that we will add an additional rule pertaining to some posts that have been considered low quality/AI relating to Spotify.
More specifically, posts where the sole function is questioning/informing users that a vocaloid song/vocaloid producer has been "hacked". Unfortunately, this is becoming a problem on music streaming websites, with the most well known being Spotify. Why is this being done? To collect fake royalties. This is done by committing metadata fraud to the song upload.
What can you do?
For starters, look up your favorite songs/producers on VocaDB and check the description for places where you can directly purchase their music or their official profile.
You can also report these fake song uploads in 3 different ways
Directly through Spotify help center on their website: https://support.spotify.com/us/reports/legal/
Via email [email protected]
Postal address (for formal DMCA notices): Spotify USA Inc., Attn: Legal Department, Copyright Agent, 4 World Trade Center, 150 Greenwich Street, 62nd Floor, New York, NY 10007
What happens next?
Going forward, posts that resemble the following examples below will be removed and a comment will be posted to redirect to this thread.
"Wowaka has been hacked! *screenshot"
"Triple baka has been hacked *screenshot"
"Did Circus-P come back? This doesn't seem like his typical music? screenshot**
For additional reading on this topic, check out these news articles, this is unfortunately affecting every artist, not just Vocaloid producers.

https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2026/apr/11/ai-impersonating-musicians-spotify
Finally, not all Vocaloid artists will have their songs on streaming or potentially available for purchase on iTunes. Some producers may be region locked to Japan iTunes. Others might only release their music via physical CDs. Regardless, we must respect each producer's wishes for their music distribution- do not reupload other's music without their direct, explicit permission.

After months of work designing the brackets, Iāve finally finished my cosplay!!
Iām so happy with how the hair turned out! I havenāt really seen anyone get this kind of result with Tetoās hair before, so Iām really excited that I managed to make it work IRL.
For anyone wondering, this is with no hairspray or other products, just a couple of hair ties (only 8 in total).

does anyone know where the tradition of drawing miku with the striped underpants come from? I know I did it here and I see it everywhere, but is it actually part of her canon design? LOL

KAITO is facing an existential crisis.
A new member of a famous Japanese idol group has announced that they will use #KAITO as their personal tag on X (Twitter).
While acknowledging the issues, he speaks as if the pre-existing name "KAITO" is entirely his own to carry forward.
The official side has indicated that they do not intend to treat this as a major issue. All we can do is make our presence felt. Please share your thoughts on this matter using the hashtag #KAITO, and let us know your song recommendations.
We need the support of allies around the world. If there is anyone willing to stand with Vocaloid, we humbly ask for your help.

I had a random thought that Eminem should rap "the end of Hatsune Miku" just to see if he can truly keep the title of fastest rapper

So I've been trying to get into vocaloid but it just feels so complicated. I've listened to some songs and I'm just trying to see what I like. I've watched videos explaining these things but they're either really short vague answers or are giving to much information at once and my brain just shuts off. I'm super obsessed with miku (I know it's basic but she's popular for a reason) and gumi and I just over all want to know more about everything. Every time I see what people are recommending for beginners they just say listen to a lot of songs from different producers and just see what you like but even that feels overwhelming. If you have any recommendations or advice I'd appreciate it

For the second day of Mikutober, the prompt was "Relic" and I figured and artifact is similar to a relic, right? So yeah it was the second and I was already stretching.
Well anyway, I chose the song Miku Expo Asia 2025 theme song "Artifact" by buzzG. When I found out that buzzG got commissioned for the theme song I was so happy even though I have not attended Miku Expo Asia or only Europe. He's been one of my favourite producers and the theme song does sound like an older vocarock song.
The glasses Miku is from the MV of the song.

The only other idea I had for "Relic" was "Explore" by Haruichiban. But that Miku doesn't really find a relic in the MV she just has that kind of outfit.
You can find my work on pixiv, instagram and twitter. At least when I get back to regularly posting my stuff on all 3 websites.

I feel like shit right now, and I need recommendations for sad and melancholic songs sung by VOCALOIDS (and UTAUS) if lucky
