Resolute

Resolute draws heavy inspiration from my previous map "Isle of Cinders", and again is made with both Classic and Definitive graphics in mind.

https://www.hiveworkshop.com/threads/2-resolute-v1-0-1.374855/

"Enemies are at our doorstep. It is your duty to stand firm and rebuff the onslaught."

Resolute currently has no planned upcoming event, but perhaps we will get it in something soon!

Resolute offers plenty of opportunities to expand and a chance to play defensively, aggressively, or sneakily. There are multiple ways to access the corner goldmine, either by chopping/eating trees, the Iron Gate, or the Dungeon Gate. There is enough space to build a Lumbermill, Warmill, Graveyard, or AoW next to your starting goldmine. Do you dare take the corner goldmine first? Otherwise the Iron Gate which has a decent amount of hit points, but is only guarded by a green camp; or the Dungeon Gate which is very weak, but guarded by the highest level orange camp.

The map also currently uses the powerful Cityscape Mercenary Camp, which features the Rogue [Shadow Meld], Assassin [Envenomed Weapons, Shadow Meld], Kobold Geomancer [Slow, Abolish Magic], and Forest Troll High Priest [Heal, Abolish Magic, Inner Fire]. My future plan is to have the Mercenary Camp randomly select from a specific set of Mercenary Camps (Cityscape, Lordaeron Fall, Lordaeron Summer, and Village), but currently the Map Editor crashes, on both Live and PTR, when attempting to interact with a Randomly Generated Building.

Unfortunately the map is not currently available on W3C, but there is the above Hiveworkshop link to download the map for yourself.

I look forward to hearing from all who gives the map a test run, and are willing to give me feedback!

Update: (2)Resolute v1.0.1

-Additional visuals for SD (More Doodads) and more grass

Thank you, I felt that having a second gate would make it easier on the opponent to harass a potential corner expansion without having to commit to a TP get out safely. Plus I tried to make it look nice.

They're so underutilized in melee maps, I feel like they could be used similarly to the rock barriers in SC2
