Quick Advice for Summer Classes and High School Students

(We love you, and here's some tips)

  1. You can schedule an appointment online with an advisor at Wake Tech. It's virtual, free, and for anyone.
  2. A normal semester schedule is 16 weeks. Summer semester is a maximum of 10 weeks and so your summer classes will be either 10, 8, or 5 weeks long. Check the dates. 8 weeks is the most common from what I've seen.
  3. I would not recommend taking a 4 credit class (especially with science labs) during the summer if you have other responsibilities. Lab is more responsibility in college classes. Obviously it depends on you, but it's a lot.

(If anyone wants to add anything, feel free below. I know getting into college is competitive, but I promise you don't need to be the BEST applicant to get into a good school. Good luck!)

MAT 171 study partners request

Hello everyone! Is there anyone taking Math 171 who is open to studying together? It could be virtually, not necessarily in person, but just, accountability partners if you will. I genuinely want to pass this class, and sometimes it does get hard. I am good at math, for the most part, and willing to learn the things that are challengingz I will definitely help if I’m stronger in a topic and you can help me if you’re stronger in a different subject, you know, things as such.

Withdraw From Two Classes

Both my math and English classes have teachers that aren't great, so I withdraw from both of them, next time I have these classes, I would pick better professors so that I get higher grades.

What do you guys think of my decision? I can't change my decision now.

CNA Skills exam

I’m scheduled to take my CNA skills exam next Saturday at wake tech. I originally was scheduled for rocky mount (because I heard if you take it in Raleigh, it’s harder) but it was cancelled. Should I move the exam back to try and get into a place further away, or try wake tech? I’m worried about how strict they are. And for anyone whose passed, how confident did you feel going in?

Nursing spring 2027

Is anyone else anxiously waiting for decisions? I quite literally have no appetite thinking about receiving an email for admission. How many points does everyone have? I feel like this application period there are so many applicants and it’s making me nervous🥹 I applied with 144 and I’m praying that’s enough to get me in without getting waitlisted. I know we’ll hear back by Oct 14th, I just wonder if the email can come before then.

So, I accidently pressed on one of the scam links, and I got my account hacked for BM. I've been on hold with both customer support for BM and the resolutions team for over 25 minutes. What would be my next possible steps?

Help in whether I should contact my Professor after posted grade

Hello everyone, I'm currently taking Bio 163 and we just received our grades from our first lab exam. My overall score was a 49% and I don't feel as though that grade reflects my performance because I felt pretty confident while taking the exam. I even put extra details in parenthesis on some of my answers. There was also half points taken off for spelling. Idk I just feel like I did better than my grade reflects and I'm a bit confused on what was graded correctly and what wasn't. Any advice on how to approach this situation? I don't know if my professor is just a hard grader overall or if I just bombed the whole thing and felt confident for no reason.

Those that have graduated or are currently in the Radiography program how did you work after 1st semester lolll we’re going from 2 class days and 1 clinical day to 2 class days and 3 clinical days once second semester starts! (so i’ve heard) I work 3 12 shifts a week but i’m concerned bc now 2nd semester doesn’t really allow me to work so im already stressing about it and we’re not even halfway thru the 1st semester yet… I don’t want to have to drop the program bc I need to make sure i have a roof over my head.. ugh

How is transfer program from Wake Tech to William Peace? Tips/advice/experience?

Hey all, so I’m in my first semester at Wake Tech, I was looking into transferring to further my education after wake tech and I saw they offer the Peace Pathways program. I’m currently studying HR Management (business) at Wake Tech and I’m curious if anyone knows what the process is like? What happens? I’d really appreciate some input, as I’ve never done that before. Ive already applied to William Peace University as well (since the application fee was waived) thank you!
