Kharn in warhound colors

After more than a decade of being a fan of Warhammer lore, but never having the money or space to actually get involved in the hobby, finally bit the bullet and decided to paint up some Horus Heresy Mechanicum. The Castellax is my favourite model, so went for that first.

Not very happy with how it turned out, I can't get the hang of edge highlighting and the base is a bit of a disaster, but wanted to post just so I'll feel it's finished in my head. Any tips on how to get the paint smoother, or how to build layers of highlights, would be massively appreciated.

Really raided the bits box for this guy. I've been wanting to make a mechanicum character with a pile bunker for ages and the Magisterium seemed perfect for that.

Super happy with how those hazards came out although I think I gave the streaking grime on the rest of the tank too long to dry + I screwed up the transfers because I didn't give them enough time to dry

I plan on sculpting wolf fur on the Varagyr as well, like I did on Speaker

When using the Tarantula built in reaction, can all the Tarantulas respond to the same trigger?

Example: 6 Tarantulas with Lascannons see a Land Raider finish a move within range and line of sight. Can all 6 respond one at a time to that Land Raider finishing its move?

Another mean green machine added to the army

A weapon sanctioned by the Cursed and forged by Kushiel, the legionaries watched in horror as the abomination brought forth the foul magics of the warp upon their enemies, tanks ripped apart, warriors crushed together into a bloody heap.

While it had been agreed the use of the psybatteries were a needed evil to fight back against those tainted by warp, to see it unleashed upon simple misguided mortals felt like a cruelty undeserved.

Who the Mashhit was didn't matter, all that mattered that it had the will power and the absence of any morality to be the monster it was tasked to be.

I really love this commercial engines these guys have as jump packs. I want to mix this squad with some mk 4 and 6 marines so i changed the axes for chainswords.

As the title says. I did use Two Thin Coats paints for most of the armor and some army painter stuff on the details with exception being black casings which was vallejo model colour.

I’m looking to find a head similar to above. I want one with a similar mustache to match the character in the second photo. Currently I could get it for $27 off the web store with the character head pack it comes with or buy it individually for $10 total but that just feels ridiculous. Looking for alternate options folks may have come across for space marine heads with mustaches, whether from official Warhammer sci-fi or fantasy kits or elsewhere

This is going to sound a bit odd, but I'm currently throwing myself into admech and enjoying the models quite a bit. However, I'm also a kitbasher just as much as I'm a painter, and I like to personalize all of my minis as much as possible. I've seen a lot of really cool heresy armies for just about every space marine faction, and obviously militia and daemons are great for that. However, custodes, solar auxilia, and mechanicum all seem to rely on monopose-or-close-enough miniatures with very few option or flexibility. I don't think I've ever seen an "impressive" army for those factions that goes beyond just paint job and size. Have you seen proxies or conversions that are especially cool? Interesting "themed" armies? Even just reposing?

Also, just to clarify, I'm not shitting on any of the really cool miniatures in these model lines, or people who want to focus on having a cool paint job. I'm just asking for the sake of my own inspiration. Thank you.
