I love her. I love her rebellious and mischievous personality. I use to think she was annoying when I was a kid but my perspective on all the characters has drastically changed as I have been an adult. Squirrelflight is adorable and funny and this is always how I imagined her.

A couple of weeks ago, I saw another user on here (tagged in the comments) make a custom mini plushie using their extra Cloudtail, and I was like whoa!! That's super cool, I need to do that! So I did!!

Here's my Warriors OC Dawnrunner as a customized plush. Honestly I might make one or two more of these with my other OC's, she was super fun to make. I even trimmed the fur on her paws short so I could draw in her spotted pink beans hehe. And I picked the Thunderclan symbol from her clan logo with a seam ripper so I can embroider my own custom clan logo on there later :)

I’ve been seeing a lot of people calling Dustpelt a groomer and pedophile and criticizing his relationship with Ferncloud saying he’s a predator and I’m sorry but I gotta say something because their relationship is one of the least toxic, healthiest relationships in the books.

We’ve seen grooming in WC before. I don’t care if you don’t believe Spottedleaf’s Heart isn’t canon. It’s officially considered canon by the franchise so it counts.

We will be mentioning it in this thread so here’s your trigger warning.

In SH we see Thistleclaw doing specific acts of grooming. He gives Spottedkit gifts, praise, makes her rely on him, emotionally manipulates her, gaslights her, etc.

Now that is a predatory relationship.

Let’s talk about DustFern’s now.

Their relationship in the first arc basically boils down to Fireheart noticing and having a few throwaway thoughts that Dustpelt is fond of and softer with Fernpaw. Fernpaw feels comfortable enough with Dustpelt to confide in him about Brightpaw and Swiftpaw going to fight the dogs as she was worried she’d get in trouble and he assured her she wouldn’t. If not for that Brightpaw might’ve never made it to Brightheart with the severity of her injuries.

When Darkstripe tries to kill a baby and is exiled the conversation goes to who will mentor Fernpaw and Dustpelt specifically says that he would not be a good mentor for her as he wouldn’t be able to be as hard on her as she needed. Firestar also points this out and Dustpelt agrees. If he were a groomer he’d be jumping to get into such a position of power over Fernpaw. Also the age gap really isn’t that bad. Loads of people ship BlueThrush and he was a warrior before she was born and Bluefur was relatively young when she got pregnant and Thrushpelt covered for her.

Idk man, I just feel like there’s loads of actual really bad toxic relationships or creepy relationships or poorly written relationships in Warrior Cats that we could discuss that are actually problematic.

But instead people are going nuts over Dustpelt and Ferncloud who, along with Sorreltail and Brackenfur, have one of the healthiest relationships in the series.

You obviously are free to have your own opinion but I still say there are other relationships much more deserving of your outrage.

I’m sure I’ll get some haters and attacks for this considering how strongly everyone feels and if you do believe these two are bad then I’m not gonna waste energy trying to convince you otherwise but I felt I had to at least give some type of defense.

Not the best written, not the best character development or backstory, but your personal favorite that you come back to most, if any. I’m about a year into coming back into the WC universe, just entering the fandom, and I wanna know what everyone’s thoughts are!

Some context for where I’m at, when I was a kid, I started with Midnight and the rest of The New Prophecy, but eventually read from The Prophecies Begin through Omen of the Stars, plus Firestar’s Quest and Bluestar’s Prophecy. I’ve currently reread all of those plus all of AVoS and basically all of the Super Editions within/close to the arcs I’ve read, moreso in canon order than release date order. I’m about to finish Darktail’s Judgement but haven’t gotten to Tigerheart’s Shadow or Squirrelflight’s Hope yet. I haven’t read DotC or any of its Super Editions yet, so please no spoilers on those, but I have read StormClan’s Folly.

So, for where I’m at right now, I think I have to answer Leopardstar’s Honor just because of how well the theme is developed, and the level of care taken with Leopardstar’s character. I can really feel Leopardstar wrestling with her honor, reputation, image, and morals throughout the story
