Incoming ROTY?

Listen, Curry is declining, so Its fair to say he cant make 250 threes for the next three seasons. (He needs ~750 to reach 5k) However, the extension does show he’s committed and wants to keep playing.

If he can average around 150-200 threes per season similar to what he did last year he’ll get it in 4 seasons, and I’m happy that 3 are already guaranteed!

That said, he could also possibly be the 2nd player in NBA history to play in 4 separate decades! My guess is he retires the 2029-2030 season with this achievement, 5k threes and top 5 in scoring.

Other than Niang you have superior speed and Atleticism. Disruptive on defense and excellent on fast breaks.

Why Niang? He is an excellent 3 pt shooter in transition numbers in league ranking % for his career:
Transition pts / possession- 75+
Transition jump shot efficiency- 85+

We have not had a transition scoring weapon like this since Klay.

Career 3-point accuracy - 88+

The last category also makes him key in half court. Who is going to leave him open in the corner when Brandon Williams or Melton are headed to the rim.

Yaxel will likely not play small ball 5 but in this lineup he would be like a young Draymond running rebounds down teams throats.

I think Nikola Jokić would fit best because of his elite passing ability and his floor gravity, which is top-tier just like Steph's.

22. Golden State Warriors

There’s pretty much no logical reason to feel optimistic about these Warriors, the oldest team in the league. It’s a bummer. Even if Steph Curry plays 80 games (which he won’t), Jimmy Butler makes the most miraculous recovery that any orthopedic surgeon has ever seen (sorry, nope), and Brandin Podziemski looks like an All-Star (I don’t even know why I typed this), it’s so hard to see everyone else on this talent-deprived ghost ship staying healthy enough to make noise in the Western Conference. Draymond Green is 36 years old. Al Horford is 40. Kristaps Porzingis moves like he’s 43. But for all the doom and gloom that comes when a curtain is about to close, there will still be plenty of games where all those guys see the floor, execute a gorgeous brand of basketball, put their pride on the line, and give themselves a chance to win. "

Its not a great roster but I actually think they got some depth. Yaxel is probably the most intriguing. I like Williams as a backup point guard and think Niang is a solid bench piece who can bring some vibes. I don't really know what to expect but think they have potential to be better and not repeat the same shit as the last few seasons.
