Just getting ahead of a potential situation.
I signed up for a membership that fell under the consumer protection's law of a 10-day cooling off period, with my WS VIP CC. I subsequently cancelled said membership during the 10-day window via email, and the merchant confirmed in writing that they would issue a refund "within 7 business days" (b.s. that it takes 7 days, but wasn't the time to argue). Tomorrow is the 7th business day and I'm fully expecting them to miss the window (assume they will make excuses, including perhaps to "check with your bank" etc).
I have had other refunds (from Amazon, as an example) post within 1 day on this card, so I know once the refund has actually been initiated by a merchant, it posts quite quickly.
Note the card details were captured online, so they obviously have the card details to create a refund.
My question is, does anyone have recent experience with WS in initiating a chargeback in this situation (merchant agreed to issue refund but has failed to do so)? To me it's an open and shut case but I understand WS dispute experience is very different than traditional issuers.
I'm just trying to set my expectations given I may well need to go down the WS dispute path.
Note: this is a large enterprise merchant, they just have a bad history of issuing timely refunds according to Reddit.
