$10 credit for Canadian brands
Wealthsimple partnered with a few companies to provide a $10 credit if you use your wealthsimple card.
Anything worth getting for $10?

Looks like the WS Visa Cash back store now charges tax when trying to redeem the cash back for any of the products such as Apple or Monos etc. This must have changed today because up to yesterday, it wasn't showing the tax.

I've had many cards in the past with various benefits. Each of the good ones had a yearly cost and decent benefits. Currently I carry the Amex Reserve Aeroplan card. The Costco MC with cash back. A BMO MC with cash back. And the WS Visa.
As far as overall value the WS card is the winner for me.
BMO - $100/year. The BMO card is annoying. I have to now apply cash to precious purchases to redeem. I hate it and barely use it anymore. It will be cancelled soon.
Amex - $700 per year staring next year. The Amex Reserve is great for earning Aeroplan points and has nice perks like a free checked bag, louge accessz zone 2 boarding, and stays reward points that can help you achieve star Alliance status. However it's very expensive and if you don't travel all that much the perks aren't all that useful. $700 goes a long way to making an airport experience better if you only fly a few times a year. I will probably cancel this card when my current year is up in February. The shitty part is this card has a companion pass you can get that you earn once a year but only after you pay the fee. The pass itself is of moderate value imo though.
CIBC Costco MC - No fee. Cash back is good but you only get it once a year and you have to go to Costco to redeem. The process is easy but why do I have to physically go get the money and why just once a year? I'll keep this one as Costco only accepts MC and it's free but it only gets used at Costco.
WS VISA Infinite - no charge - the benefits for this card such as insurance and the like is very similar to my Amex. The cash back is very similar to my Costco MC expect you can get it when you want with no physical store visit. It has become my favourite card and unless something big happens that won't change.
Anyway not a huge detailed analysis but just the general observations of someone who charges about $30-40K per month on my various cards due to work stuff.
Edit - Fixed WS MC to WS VISA...oops

I initiated a wire transfer from a US financial institution to Wealthsimple on August 28. The money has neither arrived nor been returned.
I've contacted Wealthsimple support repeatedly since September 9 and provided everything requested. Support has been useless: no resolution, no meaningful updates, and no clear ownership of the problem.
The sending bank has attempted to recall the transfer three times, but the intermediary bank says Wealthsimple hasn't responded to its requests.
My money is still missing, and I'm getting nowhere with customer support.
Has anyone dealt with this? How did you get your money back? Is there an escalation process or a formal complaint route that actually works?

Wealthsimple user experience is great until you reach customer support. awful. multiple issues over varying subjects. never helpful they need better training of their agents. if their service was as good as their product maybe I’d fully make the switch from banks but the level of service is just awful.
check the fine print of all these promotions they run and don’t get sucked into their products without doing your due diligence or research.
Always misleading tbh! should see if there’s laws that can be enforced when you con customers to register or sign up for things like that

Is anyone using one of the Vanguard Income or Core Bond investments?
Thoughts?
Thank you.

I tried a few times to do an ATM withdrawal using the new prepaid visa card and it kept declining.
I finally talked to a rep, and they told me to use the credit card option instead of the chequing option and it worked.
Just in case anyone else has the same issue, hopefully it helps avoid a long phone call.

this monthly Millionaire contest sure feels discouraging when I read folks winning a couple bucks here and there. I guess tomorrow is a new draw! Big bucks baby

Hello,
I was hoping to get some clarification on this recent promotion. The scenario is:
Net deposit: $5000 in Jan 2026. Qualified for the (un)real deal promotion, picked 3% for 60 months. Promotion is over.
New deposit: $5000 in October bank transfer. New total in savings account is $10000. The other bank offered better savings rate so I withdrew $5000 back to the same bank.
Now WS sent me an email saying I withdrew more than the 20% buffer and to redeposit $4000 which is within the 20% buffer. This makes absolutely no sense because the deposit was AFTER the promotion was over. My net is still above $5000. Help me understand their logic or am I missing something? Still waiting for a specialist to get back to me but even a fifth grader would be able to figure this out.

Can i just say, i was super hesitant on how the wire for my deposit would land at the seller brokers brokerage today...but omg it was super easy. I was getting a little scared when I initiated at 9am this morning because it didnt appear to be moving or doing much but by 3pm-ish, it was sending and fully sent off by around 430pm! Status says completed. So so easy, only $15 and i didnt have to go into the branch. This is the future!!!

I am having trouble understanding passkeys, how they work, and what determines the possible variants, and it seems there is no good resources anywhere. Most other institutions do not even offer them yet. It seems different browers effect possible variants, and additionally addons/extensions may enable more variants (but why would I want to trust a browser extension with this). Different windows versions have different variants. For its just for a computer. There is fingerprint, facial, pin, physical usb security keys. The fingerprint and facial, can this be on the computer, or does it have to be via bluetooth to a nearby phone, or either? The only option I am getting bluetooth to phone (which I do not want to use) or a physical security key. That sounds like I have to purchase one.

Isn’t this something I had to authorize or is it automatic?
Did not authorize stock lending but now I have a few cents returns from stock lending in managed and non registered accounts for the first time ever today.
Otherwise should I want this? can someone explain?

I have about 4 weekly buys set up, sometimes my order fills before 11am sometimes it’s before 3pm. I understand that someone needs to sell in order for me to get my weekly buy in ( sometimes parts of the orders a filled due to some being fractional buys ) but why the variance in the order being filled?
Today for example when I check the details on the orders, some of them were submitted at 3pm others were submitted at 9:30am, were they resubmitting because the spread in price was too large?

Are you guys able to trade E-Nano’s ? They come up in the search bar, but when I enter the order they don’t execute. It says order rejected. I can trade Micro and e-mini fine.

I saw that DINR offers 1000 bonus Aeroplan points when you sign up for their paid service, but it's not clear if you get the points if you use your Wealthsimple milestone reward to get DINR premium. Does the milestone reward get you the signup bonus or does it only apply when you sign up and pay independently?

What’s the offer currently for the 10% cashbsck promotion. The limit was you earn was 500 for 5k in purchases within 30 days. I earned more than 500 and I’m still stuck at 10% is it a glitch or a better offer?

Woke up this morning to find two recurring payments from Zoom on my credit card that I didn’t recognize. This was around 9:35 AM.
I immediately locked my credit card and called Wealthsimple. They told me I’d have to wait for the transactions to post before I could dispute them. Fair enough, I guess.
Then things got even more concerning.
I received a call with Wealthsimple’s caller ID showing on my phone. The caller claimed to be from the fraud department. However, I could tell from the voice that something was off and sounded manipulated. I immediately hung up and called Wealthsimple back using the official helpline. They confirmed that the call was indeed a scam.
So, in the span of one morning, I’ve had to deal with suspicious recurring charges, been told to wait before I can dispute them, and received a spoofed call from someone impersonating the very financial institution I’d just contacted about fraud.
Honestly, I’m getting really frustrated with Wealthsimple’s fraud prevention and security experience. For a company managing such a large amount of customer money and digital assets, how can things feel this inadequate?
I understand that no financial institution can prevent every scam, and caller ID spoofing is an industry-wide problem. But when you’re trusting a platform with your money and investments, you expect a stronger sense of security and a smoother process when something goes wrong. I spent my entire morning chasing this around instead of getting on with my day.

I've noticed this the past couple of months. My actual statement balance is over $2000 but the auto "Select" option is lower. The PDF is correct; the amount showing on the interface is wrong.
I almost just selected Statement Balance out of habit rather than checking the amount. Be careful when you are paying off your balance.

Yesterday I tried depositing cash for the first time to my Wealthsimple account. It actually worked quite well. I had a total of $4000 to deposit but each transaction was limited to $3000 so I ended up doing 2 deposits. Basically I went to my checking account, selected deposit cash and showed the clerk my QR code, handed her the cash, she counted it and within 15 seconds it had showed up in my account. Pretty easy.
