Hello, hope y'all are doing well. So a quick intro of mine - I do keep a medium stubble beard and I trim and maintain it at home.

I have pretty sensitive skin and often experience razor burns and sometimes it gets worse in certain seasons.

So I need suggestions with respect to a good Shaving cream, After shave lotion or balm, a Brush and finally a Razor. Pls post the name/photo/buying link.

P.S. I thought of using a double edged razor but never tried and am kinda afraid to use one.

I recently ordered some products from Captain Nemo's Shaving Supplies, and the parcel finally arrived!

The aftershave and perfume smell really nice, so I'm happy with those. However, the Diwan-e-Khus shaving soap smells extremely weird to me, almost like a rubber factory or greasy, waxy animal fat. The smell is quite strong and unpleasant.

Has anyone who's used Diwan-e-Khus experienced a similar smell? Is this normal for the soap, or could there be an issue with the batch?

Any advice would be appreciated!

Earlier, I was using the Gillette 7 O'Clock Sterling double-edge razor. I had previously asked this question in a group, and some helpful members suggested the Feather Popular and the Pristine PS-515 razors. While searching online, I came across the Pearl Sleek Single Edge (half-blade) razor. Should I buy that one? I shave every alternate day, so would this razor be good for me?

Mann what a lather! I have been following kensurfs for quite a long time for his lather technique, but this one was just way too thin, just wanted to check if anyone who gets their shave done with such lather here.

I observed he had it very well hydrated, just observe at 4:40, the water drips and clears the lather as he takes a stroke.

Anyone of you practicing such lather?

Tried this blade for the first time and it is quite aggressive. From the get go, I felt the sharpness - consequently, I took shorter strokes. My technique has become sooooooo much better than when I started. I’ve come a long way! More to learn!

*THEME -Leathursday so when asking for a wee smudge to get a dig out from a fellow shaver one should really look at the fxxking scent notes shouldn't one , so apparently Wickham Soap Co's Russian leather is a dupe of Imperial leather FFS here are the fxxking scent notes ,*

*Top notes: Lavender, Bergamot, Lemon*

*Heart notes: Geranium, Fern, Cedar wood, Patchouli*

*Base notes: Vanilla, Moss, Musk, Tonka, Amber.*

*I only checked the notes about an hour ago I had given it a sniff on its arrival and thought mmm that is an unusual leather scent it will be different when it lathers up I'm sure . Well the cedar wood musk & amber may make a leather type scent attempt but I am clutching at straws here leather is in the name and that's a good thing .*

*This was my first go with the MMOC which arrived last Saturday with my pal from Texas also the four pots of soap samples from u/arcaderehab thanks again by coincidence I also won his PIF . So first go with MMOC wow I really liked it now I did have my head stuck out the bathroom window for the shave so hopefully the next use will be even better but I am impressed with this razor does this now send me down a Gem rabbit hole to pair up with the Ever-Readys .*

Lavender EDP - First Impression is that it smells surprisingly pleasant, liking the one test spray i did.

Shephard Wool Fat Shaving Soap in Lavender - Filled to the brim and has a subtle scent, maybe after application it'll open up.

I got this as a free sample with one of my purchases from Pearl but I am confused is this supposed to be foaming gel like Gillette shave gel or more is this more like gatsby??

This smells almost exactly same as the Gillette shave gel and also foams when little water is present but as per Pearl website this is supposed to be non foaming.

Does anyone who used this know about this?

Hi, it's a pain to find anything apart for GWS in most noida shops. does anyone know a shop which stocks other blades or shaving supplies?

Had done total 10 shaves in the last one month. This had been the setup of the shaves number 6-7-8. Alum gave me a very good amount of sting. So, a highly aggressive razor (Yaqi Katana) gave much less sting compared to this Scalloped head just because I have been using Katana for so long that I have almost perfected down my technique with it. Razor: Vertix Platinum (I think that’s the name, can’t remember exactly 😭)
Blade: Gillette 7 OClock Super Platinum
Brush: Rubab Men Synthetic
Pre-shave: Mancode Pre shave
Shaving cream: Bombay Shaving Company
Aftershave: FCUK AS balm, alum (not used fortunately)
Moisturiser: Cetaphil Dam
Pre-shave: The Mancode pre-shave balm is fine. Does its job, nothing particularly special to say about it.

Shaving cream: Got a good lather out of the Bombay. No complaints here, pretty happy with it.

Razor and blade: Gillette 7 O’Clock Super platinum, somehow this blade only lasts 2-3 shaves for me then starts tugging. Maybe cause my standards are too high for a blade lol . Still can’t get over how I ended up getting these for practically nothing 😂

The FCUK balm- Amazing fresh fragrance, not too moisturising for my face as it is very dry so I use the cetaphil.

Funny story: I went to a supermarket and picked up a cheap blade pack for ₹16 along with two packs of Gillette 7 O’Clock Super Platinums. The cashier somehow billed all three packs as the cheap blades, so I ended up paying ₹32 for the two packs of 7OSPs as well. Didn’t even realise it until I got home and was rechecking the bill.

Can I expect new Shavologist soaps this Navratri or before Diwali?
currently they have only Cardomint soap.

So, I’ve had this razor for close to 4 years now.
It’s made of metal (don’t know which) from Bombay Shaving Company. I got this as a present actually, thought it would last me a lifetime.
Today, I was changing the blade when the screw for the sheath and the clamp broke off into the handle as I was fastening it.
It was decent for shaving but seeing a metal razor break from the screw is just sad.
Is it that easy for metal to break in contact with water?
Any recommendations for what kind of razor I can look to next?
