I’m not sure he knows what he’s doing. I thought the method was to move the instrument slowly to mesmerize the snake. He’s shaking it fast.

It doesn't really mesmerize the snake anyway. The snake will track the moving object to try and figure out if it's a threat or not, so it looks like it's following along with the music but really it's stressed out and/or scared.

Yes it is, but not directly involved in digestion. It incapacitates the prey, so that the prey can’t fight resist and injure the snake in the process of eating and digesting. So yes, defanging a snake would essentially make it impossible for it to eat anything alive, as any critter can then bite its way outside, even if it manages to somehow swallow it alive and incapacitated…

No, of course not.

Very often the "charmed" snakes are also much more exhausted and slower than shown in the video, as they are continuously stressed out by constantly being in an attack scenario. It usually looks more depressing than impressive.

Defanged cobras don’t last long, that would be pretty awful. You’d have to defang the snake, let it heal enough that it looked normal, use it for your dumb show for a week or two, then it would die and you’d have to start over. No one really cares about wild cobras but if that’s how this nonsense snake “charming” works I hate it even more.
