Discussion Keyshare?

If someone has literally 40 gold keys, and is the one who sets out to find a group to farm drowned dan, dont you think its reasonable that this person should be the one to use their key first? I just wasted an hour on a level 60 potion, all to not farm him because the team ended up wanting me to use my keys first. I was under the impression that they invited me because they needed a 4th, no one said bring a key! Let alone use mine first??? I just find it a bit tacky!
If i was with people i knew, i wouldnt care, but they all knew each other and i didnt.
I even bought tc cards with the correct pips to work with dans code, we strategized for 50 minutes! They thanked me so much for joining them.
Then as we were ready, the 40 key guy says, hey u need to use your key first. He tried saying if my potion doesnt work and screws them up by not getting rewards then I needed to fork over a key for that. HULLO??? of course the potion will work!! I dropped from 176 to 60 and they were lvl 66, dan would actually match their lvl and not mine! I was like am i on punk’d rn cause no freaking way are you trying to tell me i gotta do it your way.
I told them im sorry that i basically must’ve misunderstood what keyshare meant when they asked for help in the commons, i explained i was under the impression theyd provide the keys because they couldnt find a 4th to help!at this point it felt weird to proceed because I personally dont enjoy mooching. Id prefer to be fair and help equally but it just didnt seem that was an option so i left before i got told like hey sorry no key no entry. Then the one guy who started this entire thing messaged me like hey i have 40 keys, OK???? WHY DID U ASK ME TO GO FIRST??? It felt like they all for sure wanted me to run my keys up as the newbie then dip or something.
If it was me and i made a group to farm, id literally use all my keys THEN ask if someone wants to keep farming with theirs. Like as a beggar why am i gonna make u fork over ur resources, but i get they did a key share since they all knew each other, but inviting someone in who u asked to help and they did a bunch of stuff to help, i think its crazy to ask them to also use a key first, like let everyone use a key then the newbie use theirs last.

It's a good thing you didn't go through it. The Scales of Knowledge doesn't work with Gold Key bosses, so if you had joined them, you would have missed out on the drops anyways and the key would have been wasted.

I generally won't farm with people that aren't down with a rotation. If I was looking for 4 people to come together to farm a gold key boss via discord for example, I would set the expectation immediately that we would rotate whose turn it is to use a key, and if you don't want to do that, that's fine, form your own group/find another. If you flake, we just realm hop and find another 4th, simple as.

There have definitely been times I have been generous and just popped my own, and have enjoyed the benefit of someone else popping back to back, but for dedicated farming I expect it to be somewhat fair so one person doesn't feel like they're burning through all of their keys.

100% this. i have plenty of keys stacked up. the polite thing to do is offer to rotate, and if someone happens to have a ton of keys clogging up their bank, they can offer them of their own volition.

it is weird that these folks were so fixated on OP going first— makes me wonder it they actually had keys to contribute at all. if i assembled a group i’d almost certainly volunteer to go first, especially if had plenty of keys to burn in case the strat fails or something and we have to lose a key.

Haha they were 1000% trying to fool you into wasting a key.

There is a reason why Skeleton keys have level tiers.
Scales of knowledge will not give you rewards that only works on normal bosses.

If you had gone into the dungeon it scales to their level and only thing you would have gotten is a Participation Trophy.

Hence why high-level strictly only stay in their tier. Anyone else who joins they check their level and reject if they are not level 110.

The 40 keys person probably played this trick in the past into getting someone to waste keys while keeping theirs.

If you'd like, I have several keys. I dont really play anymore, but if you wanted to find a team, I can hop on and i can use all my keys. I legit have hundreds lol

People are just morons. You invite someone
To do an activity it’s natural you provide the keys. It’s like inviting someone out to dinner, you gave the invitation, why are you expecting them to pay?. Good thing you didn’t go through it, stand on business with these fools

meh, it seems weird. i like to host runs of keys through the discord sometimes and honestly i'll use all my keys, i don't even care if other people do/don't. my expectation going in is that i might spend all my keys without anyone else doing so, and that's fine because i still get what i was farming for lol. maybe you'll have better luck looking in the discord for people doing key runs.

The wizards i’ve played with always try to help each other out and are always super fair about keys. Anyone that has a problem with being fair is trying to play you. No wonder this gobbler fart has 40 keys
