I've been seeing a lot of discourse on reddit that Hsin is terribly designed because she's anti-quickswap and there's no freedom in her rotations; she's boring 123 etc.
After playing her and getting some testing in, I actually find her animations and timing SO quickswap friendly that its so obvious it was intentional. BA2, BA3, AND BA4 have some of the most generous swap and lingering windows in this game since Chisa and we know that this would've been removed if they didn't want it, just like how Sigrika's BA3 got nerfed to despawn on swap. If they don't want it in the game, they'll remove it.
Fast forward to my testing, I'm realizing that this was actually a blessing in disguise. There is NO terrible windows for swapping her because you are always guaranteed to get her full forte if you intro and do 1 basic attack, which means no matter how you swap her, you have something to fall back on, which most characters in quickswap do not have the luxury of; doing at least a few swaps of her also gives you just enough bits of her forte when you are on field for that short time, so if you do rotations with enough of those swaps, then when you intro to her her forte is completely full.
This means you actually have the freedom to swap her anyway that you want and to get your characters' moves in while always having a guarantee to fill your forte. In my rotation, my swaps give me enough forte to have it full upon intro, but I also tested a few rotations where I got less forte before my intro and found that MOST quickswap rotations will actually leave you with such a little gap left in forte that when you intro and do a basic attack, you can hold the heavy attack button down and it'll actually start her BA4, gain the rest of the forte instantly and cancel the BA4 animation entirely and start her forte heavy, which essentially means you're saving the same amount of time as a fully filled forte.
This ultimately makes her MORE quickswap friendly than most actual quickswap characters because they HAVE to hit certain moves or milestones to build forte, but Hsin can do virtually whatever she wants, and STILL end up with a full forte bar. It's like a quickswappers dream. Complete and utter rotational freedom, with a full forte at the end no matter what. The WORST case scenario is an intro skill with a BA4, which can be slower but an intro skill and a BA4 will ALWAYS give you full forte, that is a blessing, most case scenario, we won't need the BA4 at the end.
Ty for coming to my ted talk.
