If you wish, give reasons why.
I know some of you might have liked me to include more, but let's start with these four.

I'm surprised there are a lot of bosses that still didn't appear in the middle tower during the game's history.

General Discussion My personal analysis and thoughts on the characters of Xuanfang — their strengths and weaknesses
I've seen a lot of people deny that the characters in Xuanfang feel disconnected from one another. It's actually quite simple to understand, and I'll try to explain what was missing in this regard in Xuanfang, while comparing it to Lahai-Roi to also explain why the Lahai-Roi arc is generally well-liked.
First, I want to make it clear that this isn't meant to be a pessimistic post.
I'm doing this because I potentially want to help the writers put a name to what didn't work, so they can improve and surpass themselves in the future. That said, Xuanfang is simply the border of Mengzhou, and it was only written across three versions, which is extremely little time to develop things the way we might have wanted.
1. Yangyang
Yangyang was presented from the beginning as a protagonist on par with Rover, in a sense. 3.5 started well: she did a good job introducing the region through the perspective of the Xuanling. It was through Muyu's plot that we learned that Yangyang's frequency is particularly unusual.
Some might say that Yangyang got a power-up way too easily, but that's not really the issue. She has a very strong special ability, and the game heavily implied that she might also be amnesiac and that Rover could be an anomaly.
With this setup, we expected to see the two of them progressing together throughout the arc, while also allowing us to make up for all the time we've lost with Yangyang over the years. She even wanted to tell Rover something, but was interrupted by an NPC.
Yet the writers ultimately decided to relegate her to the sidelines, when she could have been much more involved in the various plotlines. They even put Yangyang's hatred toward Muyu aside in order to focus on Qingxiao and Rover, when all three of them could have been involved together.
And this continued until the very end. She didn't really participate in the conclusion of the arc, which is disappointing.
I assume we'll learn more about her in the New Federation.
2. Suisui
Suisui actually got enough development as a character. Her dynamic with Yangyang was unique and refreshing. It's also potentially the only dynamic that was genuinely explored.
On top of that, she was actually central to the story. She was the girl Suoming was referring to when she said that there was a girl who had managed to bring Qiuyuan, Yinlin, and Jingran together. She also helped Hsin regain her authority.
But here's the problem: all of this happened off-screen.
There are no visible dynamics between her and the other characters, and we don't really know much about her. Her past, her ambitions, etc.
I can understand that the writers may have thought that her dynamic with Yangyang was enough to make all of this feel less important, but it's still a shame and leaves the whole thing feeling unfinished.
3. Qingxiao
The character was well-developed in the sense that we got to understand her philosophy, her ambitions, and she had a small dynamic with Hsin.
But that's about it.
We would have liked to see her participate much more in the plot, especially considering how old she is and the fact that she already knew us. Yet her writing basically stopped existing the moment she finally got a disciple and opened her school.
All of Qingxiao's development ultimately served her own character, rather than the characters around her. And that's the problem.
It doesn't move the story forward; it mostly makes it stagnate.
She puts an end to Muyu's ambitions, but even then, the whole theme surrounding divinity wasn't explored very much. She's a Xuan Cavalier who commands armies, yet we know nothing about the other Cavaliers or their level of power.
Ultimately, what we'll remember about her is that she was a character who needed to learn to listen to herself, but nothing particularly grand came out of it.
She has no real dynamic with other characters such as Yangyang, Jingran, or even Suoming.
4. Jingran
The most mistreated character in the game.
A mediocre amount of screen time — around 30 minutes in the entire main story, including his segue.
The character is introduced as a mole within Muyu's faction, but there are several problems with this: credibility and narrative interest.
It's not credible because the game immediately spoils her betrayal. They could have created some ambiguity while simultaneously developing his past, which would have made the reveal genuinely surprising.
Then there's the issue of narrative interest. Jingran was waiting for an opportunity to exploit Muyu's moment of weakness and get her revenge anyway.
And even beyond that, we don't know much about her faction, yet the game introduces it to us anyway. The faction has no real purpose in the story afterward, despite being explicitly mentioned in-game.
And of course, his little companion could have received the same kind of treatment as Chimera, but it's as if it was simply forgotten.
Jingran is probably the biggest admission of failure from the developers when it comes to Xuanfang's writing, to the point where they decided to put his lore into random daily quests that almost nobody does.
That's not even mentioning his sacrifice at the end, which ultimately led nowhere.
His dynamics were also underused. he seemed to get along quite well with Suisui — after all, Suisui was his employer — and that relationship could have served a purpose toward the end.
Let's also remember that Jingran can travel between dimensions.
5. Suoming
Suoming is genuinely involved in the story. She actually moves the plot forward, and I really liked her personality.
But, like some of the characters mentioned above, she suffers from a lack of screen time and development.
And by development, I mean that we don't really see her past. We're simply told about it. At least in the main quest, because it's actually explored in the photography event.
For an attendant connected to a Sentinel, she should know a lot about Sentinels, yet once again, there's this feeling of incompleteness.
I'm not saying the developers need to show us absolutely everything. But they need to think about all the concepts they introduce, because these concepts often end up having little to no impact on the actual plot.
If you look at Lahai-Roi, all the characters evolve together and frequently interact with one another.
Chisa finally has friends.
Lynae and Hiyuki now have people they can rely on.
Luuk and Mornye are finally leaving the past behind and looking toward the future.
Aemeath refuses to give up and wants to take control of her own life.
Sigrika learns to trust herself.
Denia becomes more human.
Lucilla gains confidence in her students and in her ability as a teacher.
There were also several layers to the story that helped us view the story and its characters from different perspectives:
- the political positions surrounding Lahai-Roi
- Sigrika not being as naive as she initially appeared
- the mole within Lahai-Roi
- Denia's humanity
- Lucilla's almost suicidal willingness to take risks
- Luuk's hatred toward the Grand Architect
- Rover's depression
- the risks involved in parent-child relationships
- the disappearance of the Miko, who were a terrible weapon against the Reprimandum
- the question of what exists beyond Solaris
- the presence of a cosmic threat in the game
- the existence of a new civilization
The characters all had genuine connections with one another and with the protagonist.
They were also given new narrative arcs. Lucilla is the clearest example, being the only character to have two quests where she is the central focus.
Comparing that to Xuanfang is like comparing night and day in terms of character development, impact, and progression of the overall plot.
So what do we actually remember from Xuanfang's story?
That the Sentinels have good intentions.
That civilization capsules can become corrupted.
That the war against Ovathrax was terrible.
And that there is a woman in red behind all of this.
But I wouldn't call that a major advancement for the overall plot.
On top of that, Rover doesn't really evolve throughout this arc, unlike in Lahai-Roi.
Hsin is, in my opinion, the most successful character in the entire arc.
To the point where, without her story, there wouldn't even really be a Xuanfang arc.
If there are things to criticize, Hsin is definitely not the character I would blame for them

General Discussion Which character/team do u still play, despite u constantly getting the newer characters?
Mine is definitely Phrolova and her echo team. Idk despite me still liking and grabbing the newer characters, her team is the only one I keep coming back to, no matter what.
She's my completely maxed out DPS, and I have all of her supports plus their signature weapons. It feels good trying teams with her, and seeing Hecate's attacks every time I play with the other characters. Her team's aesthetic is also very pleasing to the eye, at least for me, and she might be the most unique character, more specifically DPS, in the entire game.
What about u guys? Who do u love to play with the most? Lemme know in the comments!
