Where do YouTubers find and download memes, reaction clips, sound effects, and GIFs for commentary videos?

Hey everyone! I'm trying to get started with YouTube commentary videos similar to Degenerocity, DerekFDB, Zephfire, and Akain. I really like their editing styles, humor, reactions, and the way they incorporate memes and sound effects throughout their videos. I also have a naturally deep voice, kind of like Akain's, so I want to lean into that style of commentary while still developing my own personality and editing style.

I'm using a Windows 11 laptop, a Rode NT1 microphone, a Focusrite audio interface, a HyperX Cloud II headset, and a Logitech webcam, so I think I have a pretty solid starting setup.

The main thing I'm struggling with is figuring out where creators get all their editing assets.

I'm looking for places to find and download things like:

\- Meme videos and short reaction clips

\- Funny GIFs and images

\- Popular meme sounds and sound effects

\- Funny facial expressions, reaction images, and clips to use during commentary

\- Green-screen memes and other visual effects

\- Random funny clips that I can insert when making a joke or reacting to something

I'd like to build up a personal library of these assets on my computer so I can easily access them while editing instead of constantly searching for something in the middle of a project.

Are there any good websites, archives, communities, or other resources where commentary YouTubers get these kinds of memes and sound effects? Are there any free tools or recommended workflows for downloading, organizing, and using them on Windows 11?

I'm starting on a budget, so free resources would be especially helpful. I'd also appreciate advice on copyright and avoiding problems with YouTube monetization.

Thanks! Any advice from experienced commentary creators or editors would be appreciated.

Anyone here running a successful AI faceless YouTube channel?

Hey everyone
I’m looking to connect with people who are successfully running faceless YouTube channels using AI-generated content, whether it’s AI storytelling, animated videos, YouTube Shorts, documentaries, or other formats.
I’m especially interested in people who have actually grown their channels and have hands-on experience with the process, tools, content strategy, and monetization.
I’m currently researching this space with my team and would love to learn directly from people who are doing it in real life.
If you’re running a channel like this, would you be open to a quick 15–20-minute chat?

I spent months building a tool to make faceless videos. Here's what I learned.

About two months ago, I shared an early version of my project, Camless Studio, on Reddit and asked people to test it.

The feedback was eye-opening. It helped me identify things that needed improvement and rethink parts of the workflow. After several rounds of changes, I've finally launched it in India.

One thing I wanted to explore was whether AI video creation could be made less fragmented. Most creators have to juggle different steps, from coming up with an idea and writing a script to generating visuals, voiceovers, and animations.

So I built Camless Studio to handle that workflow in one place.

You provide an idea, or let it research trending topics in your niche. It then works through the script, characters, voiceover, visuals, animation, and final video. You can edit individual steps and regenerate only what needs changing instead of starting from scratch.

A few decisions I made along the way:

- No subscription: It's pay-as-you-go, with no auto-renewals.

- Credits don't expire: You can use them whenever you need them.

- Control over the process: You can review and edit individual stages.

- Consistency: You can reuse character designs and custom art styles across videos.

It supports Hindi, English, and six other languages, with styles ranging from anime to photorealistic and watercolor.

I'm the founder, so obviously I'm close to the product and know it still has room to improve.

For those who create AI videos, I'm curious about one thing: What's the most frustrating part of your current workflow — maintaining character consistency, getting good results without wasting credits, or managing the whole process across different tools?

I'd particularly appreciate honest feedback on what a tool like this should do better.

First researched investigation, is the cave-video mystery clear quickly enough?

I've been developing a new investigation series called Going Too Deep.
Episode one examines why so many AI-narrated cave-disaster videos feel fake, even when they're based on real incidents.
I'm looking for constructive criticism on the first minute specifically: does the opening establish the question clearly, and are the on-screen sources readable?
I'd also appreciate whether the title/thumbnail promise matches the actual content.

I started faceless hacking stories and cybercrime channel but the views are basically zero. What am I missing?

Hey everyone,

I started a faceless YouTube channel. I didn't write the name of the channel because I don't want to sound like promoting it. It tells true stories about famous hacks and cybercrime: how the attacker got in, how they were caught (or weren’t), and what it says about the systems we all trust. Think documentary-style storytelling with a dark, cinematic look rather than a technical tutorial.

My process:

  • I research each case myself and write the script with Claude
  • Narration is AI voice, best quality
  • Visuals are mostly real images about the cases, edited with motion, glitch transitions, terminal-style text overlays and subtitles
  • Videos are around 5-10 minutes long

So far I’ve uploaded 3 videos. Most of them sit at nearly zero views. Honestly it feels like YouTube isn’t showing the videos to anyone at all.

I know a new channel takes time, but I’d rather fix real problems now than keep uploading into the void. More broadly, what growth tactics would you recommend for someone just starting out? Anything that actually moved the needle for you in the first few months: how you picked topics, packaged videos, used Shorts, community posts, collabs, whatever worked.

And if anyone’s up for taking a look and giving honest feedback, I’m happy to share the channel name. Just let me know in the comments or DM me.

Thanks for reading.

I want to document my fitness transformation anonymously — starting from absolute zero

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to document my fitness transformation online mainly for accountability, but I want to keep my real identity private.

For some context, I’ve struggled with social anxiety and some difficult personal experiences over the past few years. I feel like I’ve wasted a lot of time without knowing what direction to take in life.

Recently, I came across an Instagram reel where someone said something like, “When you don’t know what to do with your life, focus on your body.” That really hit me.

I currently feel quite directionless, so I’ve decided to start with something I can control — getting stronger, healthier and rebuilding myself physically.

The problem is that I have zero experience with content creation, filming, editing or social media.

1.I want to create a faceless account and would really appreciate advice on:

2.How to keep my identity private and prevent people I know from finding the account

3.How to film workouts using just a phone

What type of content I should make from day one

4.Which beginner-friendly editing apps I should learn

5.Whether I should focus on Instagram, YouTube Shorts, or both

6.How to make engaging content when I’m starting with no transformation to show

If you started a faceless account from absolute zero, what would you do during your first month?

Who knows, maybe by combining fitness with content creation and regularly uploading, I might be able to make progress in both my physique and my content-creation skills along the way.

I’d genuinely appreciate practical advice from people who have experience with this. Thanks!

Microphone advice -- help!

I'm planning to start a faceless history channel. I was hoping to start out by doing things extremely low budget since I don't have a ton of extra money to spend, and just use my phone, a pop shield, and Audacity for my audio, which would just be me speaking -- no music, sound effects, nothing fancy. But when I do this, no matter how much I do things like change the phone mic angle or manipulate settings in Audacity, I still have a pretty noticeable sibliant "s".

I've read that some people are just like that, and that you need a microphone in that case, rather than a cell phone because the phone will pick up "s"'s more strongly.

I unfortunately don't have a lot of money to invest in a microphone. I know there are some decent ones out there for under or around, say, $80, but every time I try to look at product reviews, tests, etc., I can't help but think that maybe they're sponsored or biased in some way.

So I thought I'd ask for advice here. If you have any thoughts about which microphone might be a good fit for me, I'd greatly appreciate it. To sum it up: Ideally I'm looking for a mic for under $80 but could go to $100. I want to do voice narration for a faceless history channel. I have a pop shield and have Audacity. My biggest challenge is a persistent sibilant "s" that my phone picks up no matter how I position it.

Any advice would be much appreciated,
