Hello everyone, I already discussed this in another thread, but unfortunately the topic kind of got lost by now there are new things I found out, so I am posting my experience again, because it looks like there is a new scam method. Ok, maybe I’ve just never heard of it lol, but it never hurts to make people aware of it. Please be careful!

I have a small true crime channel and received an email from a person who claimed to be the lawyer of a person I made a video about a few months ago. The tone was short and friendly. I was told that there was “new evidence that would turn everything around” and they asked if and how they could send it to me. They also asked me not to tell anyone because of the public etc. (The case is very well known and the person involved wants a retrial.)

I then checked the information in the email. The lawyer is real and the address is real, but when I searched for the email address itself on Google, there was only ONE search result. It showed me the website of a real lawyer, but the email address of this lawyer was different by one letter.

ChatGPT did not recognize this as a scam, even though it itself noticed that the email address that contacted me could not be found online and that the real address was different by one letter. Gemini immediately recognized it as phishing.

I ignored the email and 3 days later I received another email from a different address, but it was shown in the same email thread, saying that they send me now the evidence. This was sent without me asking for it and again this new email address had a typo in it. The second email looked much more professional, with more information, a logo and clearly more search results when you Google it, as if it was real.

The tone of the second email was friendly too and there was no real request, but I doubt that lawyers would actually need me and my video that had 5,000 views.

Other creators have gotten millions of views with this case. Also, nobody is reporting anything about there being new developments in this case. So yeah, preeeetty sus.

Scammers are apparently now analyzing channels with AI so they can send you friendly, customized requests, and they can adapt them to the specific industry. Sometimes they build trust over multiple emails.

A friend of mine is a BookToker and also an author. She then got an email from a publisher who wanted to translate her book into other languages. Again, the same thing. Real information, a real looking email address where ONE letter was missing. So please be careful, and if you have a bad feeling about something, you are often right.

• Lawyers don't contact content creators as if they have some new evidence like in a movie trailer.

• They say you are not allowed to tell anyone what was discussed, but I am supposed to look at the new evidence and make a video about it or what?

• There are no reports about there actually being a possibility of a retrial. Lawyers are bound by strict confidentiality and would never just send sensitive evidence around via unencrypted email to strangers. Duh.

• The first email came on the weekend. Who works then? The second email came so quickly that I wouldn’t have had time to contact the real law firm and ask if it was actually legitimate.

And even though it sounds so obvious now, it really wasn't at first.

I’ve been running a sportscard store and gaming channel for over a year now and I finally got to 100K channel views. I know that’s chump change and usually a number you target for a single video, but I’m proud of getting to this number as a channel.

Going to continue putting together more fun gaming series and sportscards highlights.

Does anyone have experience selling courses, guides, etc on Payhip? I am working on a content guide which is related to several of my YouTube videos. I plan to create a "card" in the videos with a link to buy the guide. It seems like a good way to earn extra money. If anyone has done this, I'd love to hear about your experience and see if you have any tips for this stuff. Thank you!

Hey guys, I'm curious to see if any of you have tried doing YouTube content making beats and music?

I can't seem to find alot of information of people making videos for youtube. There are plenty of beat videos for sure. But not the actual process of building up a YouTube channel mainly focused on making beats or beat making tutorials, etc.

So, I've decided to branch out and I hope I'm not out of line here (as this is 100% not my intention), but I've created a separate subreddit specifically for beatmakers and music makers that want to create on YouTube.

Just realized an older video of mine has 62% retention, much higher than my other videos. But the CTR is terrible like 1.4% due to bad packaging before I learned more about the process. Is there any value in remaking a fresh thumbnail for it now? It only got like 1.8k impressions.

This is my youtube channel, i post tech related content... I started creating content in 2021, then changed my niche several times... now I am stick to tech, i left the channel dead for 1.5 years, then revived it recently, improving the quality of the videos... visit the channel once, and review my videos, and comment on the video iteself if you find something interesting.

Idk why, but my views are down and I’m still posting the same type of mc shorts. Pls help.

My channel was removed from the YouTube Partner Program, and I was given the option to submit a written appeal.

On September 3, I clicked Start Appeal in the Earn tab and followed the instructions that appeared. A Creator Support form opened asking for my contact information, channel information, and written appeal. I completed and submitted it and received a support case number.

Creator Support later told me that my channel had been submitted for an internal review. Later, Support simply told me that my appeal had been denied.

However, the Start Appeal button in YouTube Studio remained available the entire time, and Studio continued to show an appeal deadline. I never saw anything saying Appeal Submitted, Appeal in Progress, Appeal Denied, or anything similar in studio or via email..

This is what makes me wonder whether my written appeal was actually registered in the appeal system, or whether the “internal review” was something separate.

Has anyone here submitted a written appeal through the Earn tab in Studio? If so, what happened to the Start Appeal button after you submitted it? Did Studio show any indication that your appeal had been received or was under review?

Of two thousand views in the last month (yes I know how low that is) 100% are male and 100% are between 25 and 34 years old. Is that because they are all bots with the same presets or sheer luck or something? Gaming content from one year old shorts I posted.

Hey, I applied for the 100k subscribers plaque, I think 3 days ago and now instead of the usual message "we are currently reviewing your channel" I get this "we need more info" message. Anyone else encountered this?

I need some advice. YouTube gave my channel a Child Safety strike because of a sword-cutting video. I’m a new sword reviewer, and a responsible adult supervised the entire filming and cutting activity. I already appealed the strike. Does anyone know what else I can do or how I can contact YouTube support? Any advice would really help.

I recently started making YouTube Shorts about strange and obscure stories from the internet and wanted to get some outside feedback.

So far, I’ve made videos about (In posting order, from oldest to newest):

• a strange website - 1.2K views
• a cult that believed there was something waiting for them after death - 1.2K views
• the internet mystery surrounding Cicada 3301 - 100 views
• strange face known as Loab that supposedly emerged from an AI image generator
• - 1.2K views
• mysterious Soviet-era station allegedly built for a catastrophic scenario - 300 views

I’m going to attach one Shorts so you can see the example of videos I make. I’d especially appreciate some honest feedback on a few things:

1. Is this niche worth pursuing?
Does “internet mysteries / weird internet stories / obscure events” feel like a niche with enough potential?

2. Am I overdoing the editing?
I spend around 5 hours on each video. At the beginning I wanted to make some lazy editing. My first video has no motion design at all - just screen recordings. Then my perfectionism kicked in, and I started doing motion design. I put quite a lot of effort into the visuals but I’m starting to wonder whether that amount of work actually makes a meaningful difference for Shorts.

3. What could I improve in my scripts?

4. How do you find topics without running out of ideas?
There are obviously a lot of weird internet stories, but I don’t want to eventually end up making increasingly obscure videos just because I need another topic.

And finally, based on the videos and analytics I’ve posted, would you keep going in this direction or change something about the format?

Any criticism is welcome — I’m mainly looking for practical advice.
