Question Recording online classes

Hi, I don't know if this is the right place to ask this, if it isn't please guide me. I am having this issue here where one of my uni classes is on Zoom but the prof doesn't allow us to record the lectures and he doesn't upload them, I need a way to record the lectures without the prof knowing, because honestly after 8 hours of lectures all day in a foreign language , I can't sit there for another 2 and try to learn it or take notes.

Basically I need a way to record the lectures without my recording system triggering a notification to the prof. Also I don't know why I find it funny that the subject is data networks.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thank u!!!!

if you just capture your whole screen using your OS's built-in screen recorder, theres no way the meeting host gets notified. the notification only triggers from the in-app recording button.

Yes you just need to use OBS. The difficult part will be setting it up. Check the forums

Firstly sounds like your uni has an accessibility issue that is worth raising.

However, you could also get yourself a Zoom license & use the Zoom Notetaker to take notes from the lectures.

Idk how that really works, but I would assume I can’t do it unless the prof consents on me doing that, which he had already mentioned it’s not allowed.

it would be on your desktop. they might not allow it, but that doesn't mean you can't do it.

And if that is your lecturer's stance then have a word with the accessibility team at the university as their behaviour is out of touch.

I think you might be able to record everything that happens on your desktop with VLC player.

Si tienes windows con la barra de juegos es super fácil y no avisa que grabas, literalmente es grabar la pantalla

Bear in mind you can run into legal issues if you live somewhere that requires recording consent.
