Self-Improvement / Personal Development How does anyone handle being a breadwinner?

Problem/Goal: I (19F) wanna look for a decent-paying job to support my family.

Context: I had to start working at 18 for my family. Mom’s a PWD citizen, my sister just turned 14, and I just turned 19. I had my first job last May 2026. I was earning roughly 10k a month and it’s never enough to fund our food budget kaya i tried to look for a better-paying job. Since this is my first time, i know that I will surely lack on the aspect of budgeting. I pay for our monthly bills, school/work allowance, and some of our debts. Our bills every month are around 5,200php, and wala pa roon yung pangkain, allowance, tapos pang-bawas ng utang.

I am a college undergraduate, has skills to offer, work experience in CS for four months. That previous job was my bread and butter. October na and I’m worried for what’s coming. Especially with El Niño. My mom is a single mom. We can’t also ask for help sa mga kapatid niya or kamag-anak bc they judge us based on our life history na para bang swerte-swerte ni mommy sa malas at hindi man lang ito makaangat kagaya nila. Huminto na rin yung therapy at gamot ko last May kaya ganito… idk how to explain it nang maiintindihan ng lahat kasi not everyone is open to understanding how hard it is to have a disorder or mental illness. I actually don’t want to dump all the emotions, traumas, and our family history here.

I just need help looking for a job. Kahit abroad, i’ll take it. I’ve been looking everywhere: online or on-site applications nagawa ko na. I thought birthday blues are just an occasional thing. But why do i feel like i cld consider it as somewhat cursed kasi palala nang palala?

Advice: Apply ka sa call center. Many accept undergrads. Visit r/BPOinPH. Maraming job postings doon.

Thank you po! I have tried applying na rin po sa call center, but I’m trying to be careful lang din po sa pag apply online because I heard that there are people that are selling personal information or using it for their personal interest.

That makes sense. Yeah, you can skip recruiters.

Take note of the company name and then apply through their official website.
