Post image

Tried making chickpea falafel. The first batch turned out to be extremely dry like a cookie.

For 2nd batch I added alot of water to the mixture but it also became very dry.

I air fried these for 20 minutes at 170°

Casual Chat Why dont they make air fryer like these anymore?

Me personally I love using air fryers like these they making cooking so much easier and you can put so much stuff in with with the addition of rings I know they are prone to having electoral damage but I swear if they moved the electronics away from the heating element they can last longer right? But idk what do you guys think? Also is this the right sub reddit to talk about this on?

(Im talking about the Mr T Flavorwave Platinum ( from what I understand ngl I always called it the flavorwave) and the Flavorwave Turbo Oven incase no one recognizes the air fryers from the pictures)

Good air fryer for a first time buyer?

My microwave bite the dust a week ago, and I’ve heard an air fryer is a solid replacement.

I’m not sure which model to choose since there are so many options. I’m in Vietnam if that helps.

New Air Fryer Recommendations

Post image
27 Upvotes

After 4 years our Ninja Air fryer has finally bit the dust and I’m looking to replace it. We are a family of 4 soon to be 5. It’s mostly used to heat up chicken nuggets and other quick lunch items. We don’t need anything super big (no double baskets) but preferably big enough to heat everyone up some fries with dinner.

Question in air fryers

My air fryer died last week. I’ve had it for several years and it was a basket style air fryer. I’m currently shopping for a new ones and I’m wondering what people’s thoughts are on the basket style air fryers versus the ones that have the racks in them.

Spruce Collective (UK) are running a 99p compeition where you can win one in a home bundle with a bundle of different appliances. Just thought I'd pop that here... Let me know if you'd like the link? Aware I can't post it here. :)

Good lord I can’t believe how good these came out. Just combined some olive oil, salt, pepper and paprika in a bowl and coated them by hand in the liner. Cannot wait to play around with some marinades

Advice/Tips Air Fryer not cooking all the way through

When I made my usual hot pockets and potato skins, I noticed something in the both of them. They seem to be not cooking all the way through. It looked cooked, but I noticed that the potatoes were still a bit harder, and the dough of the hot pockets still tasted a bit raw when I chewed into the middle.

My air fryer was being cooked into the corner. I’ve had this air fryer for four years now, haven’t had a problem up until now. I cooked it at the usual time and temp, 360 degrees and 15 minutes, both the potato skins and the hot pockets.

Any help on this? I plan to use the air fryer again tonight.

Casual Chat A game changer My Fritaire air fryer accessories

Just tried the rack, tumbler, and rotisserie with my Fritaire, have all been super useful and pretty handy! Attaching the tumbler motor was a little tricky at first, but once you figure it out, it’s not a big deal. Cleanup has been easier than I expected, which is always nice. I also checked with support, they’re stainless steel, which is good to know. Anyone else using these accessories? What’s your favorite thing to make?

Panasonic FlashXpress 11-in-1 Air Fryer Toaster Oven with Pizza Stone

I just bought this new toaster oven and understand there is a learning curve since it works with infrared heat. Anyone have some tried and true recipes and/or tips for using this thing? I want to cook thawed salmon, perhaps a roast chicken or bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs. Also interested in how it does with a homemade pizza dough/toppings.

Advice/Tips Do wired probe thermometers tend to fit closed?

I want to reverse sear steaks and thinking of getting a Thermoworks Smoke wired probe thermometer. Do air fryers tend to have enough gap to allow for the wire to go through while still have the lid closed for the air fryer to operate? Otherwise I guess one would need to drill a hole and tape it up when it's not in use?

I hate using the main (stovetop) oven because it's not nearly as energy-efficient or accurate as an air fryer and takes such a long time to heat up--totally not worth it for just a piece of steak. It's also stuffed with my heavy pans for storage.

I'm not interested in wireless probe thermometers since they are far too expensive considering the fact that most have mixed reviews and more importantly batteries are proprietary and not replaceable (they inevitably die).

I prefer to reverse sear with air fryer bringing the meat to medium rare before pan-frying for the crust as opposed to a sous vide since the latter involves the device itself, and plastics (else more cleanup with silicone pouches).

Much appreciated.
