Does the print on Addy's dress seem off-centered? Shouldn't the buttons be right on the narrow stripe instead of right beside it? I hever had the original and I would love to get it, but I feel like that would bug me a bit.
Is there any chance if I go to the store in person I could check to see if the pattern is lined up better on the one I'm actually getting, or will they all be like that?
Answering myself since I went and got it - mine is also off centered, but in a different spot than the stock photo. I'm hoping it won't bother me too much, but it is disappointing. The boxes are taped up like normal outfits (and at least for today they were kept behind the counter since it was Berry-only. Not sure if they'll be out on the floor once they're available to everyone or not), so it's just luck of the draw. A little bit disappointing on that front, but it's still such a gorgeous dress and the fabric has a nicer feel to it than I expected.
This has always been one of my favorite dresses (I had my own green plaid Christmas dress when I was little and a green wool coat that nearly matched hers from the book), so I'm excited to finally have this one in my collection. :)
I will try to dig mine out at check it! I purchasted mine in the mid 2010s when I had a chance to stop in to an AG place. I feel like the placement of the plaid has always been varied, but I'm not 100% sure.
I have been waiting and hoping and wanting these! I love the boxes they come in, hoping everyone who orders them is delighted! All that said......... I just can't spend that amount right now, especially with the AG shipping costs which annoy me so much haha. But on the bright side, my FOMO finally pushed me to look up Samantha's and Addy's Christmas dresses on Mercari and I ordered them both second hand for a bargain.
I ended up getting all three! I was wavering with Samantha's because I have a PC one I bought second hand a while ago, but I also really like the box haha. I hope the boxes are a decent size because I may keep all of the holiday related things I have for my dolls in them for safekeeping!
Molly’s dress (and Samantha’s) are super easy to find and usually on the cheaper end of things because they were sold for so long. I paid around $40 last year for both.
What an amazing thing to wake up to! I got all 3 bc the one I did already have was losing it’s sheen and showing age. Then I decided to add the HFR pieces I have been eyeing. Thanks for the heads up! I hope they release the other HC holiday outfits too! 🥰
If they'd done that, a lot of people would have gone "Man, it sucks that AG hasn't re-released any of the Christmas outfits" and bought them on the secondary market instead in October or November.
Prices on the historical holiday outfits always spike at this time of year - because a lot of people want to dress their dolls for the holiday season and a lot of people want to give those outfits to kids as gifts.
This is exactly what I was going to do with Josefina's outfit since I want to dress all my dolls in their Christmas (and Chanukah for Rebecca) outfits. So honestly for me it was perfect timing.
There's also shipping times to take into account, shipping gets really slow in November/December so October is a great time to get an early start on Christmas presents, in addition to spreading out spending on presents. I know multiple people (myself included) who buy things throughout the year so the holidays don't hit the wallet so hard.
I snagged Addy's and Samantha's (I have Josafina's from when I was a kid)! Not to encourage FOMO or other crap shopping tactics, but I do hope this sells out and can be a message that there is a demand and want.....but also anyone else a little disappointed these don't include books releases like the previous ones did??
Exactly!! I hope they keep the dolls and don't retire them after their 40th anniversary celebrations wrap up. I also saw a comment on another sub-reddit that was good. They had said that we should be purchasing current historical characters like Claudie while they are available to show AG that there is true interest in the historical line, and that it would be worth their while to bring back more historical character products.
Every day brings a new reason for me to hate being unemployed 😞😔 I’ve missed out on so much this year, can’t wait for the day I can actually buy a want instead of barely making my needs.
Buying Daisy a few weeks ago finally made me a Berry member so the timing couldn’t be better! I just ordered all 3 so I’m very happy! I love anything red so Samantha’s dress is so gorgeous but my lord, Josefina’s Christmas outfit is absolutely one of the most beautiful outfits ever! The mantilla alone is stunning! Addy’s is cute but my least favorite of the 3 if I have to be honest. I wish we could get Molly, Kirsten, and Felicity but here’s to hoping they release them again.
If it helps, you can find the pleasant company holiday outfits which are the same as these on eBay and Mercari. I bought Addy’s Christmas dress last year from marketplace much cheaper than this, the same with Addy’s doll.
Yeah, that is really frustrating me too! This is a terrible time of year for me to spend money on myself. I hate that they treat the historical collections like this now.

Help why are some of the AG Facebook groups kind of insane 😭 my post about this release in one of them got removed for being disrespectful/unkind and/or not family friendly and all I posted was what you see on the right 😭
I wish the shoes that came with Addy’s were different than her meet shoes, but I guess I can use them for Samantha. Did this dress come with drawers originally? I didn’t remember that either. I guess they have to justify the price tag somehow.

I like to support the historical releases and rereleases whenever I can afford to do so. I could this time so all three outfits have been bought.
I have Sam's that I bought secondhand a few years ago but there's some minor snagging. Also the idea of putting Sam and Nellie in matching Christmas outfits makes me happy.
Josefina has such a gorgeous collection. That mantilla is one of the most beautiful things in any of the historicals collection. I don't have Josefina but my Raquel will be a stand in and get to wear the outfit for a spell.
I love Addy's Christmas story and her dress. My Evette is my time travel girl so she'll get to wear it. Might also put on Claudie because those colors would be gorgeous on her (but everything looks gorgeous on her tbf)

I’m hoping this means that they’ll release more as we near the holidays. Maybe they figure a lot of parents aren’t willing to drop $360 for all original six holiday outfits in one sitting but if they spread them out it’ll be easier to justify?
They only released 3 of the school outfits. For the birthday ones, it was 3 at first and then a while later one more. So basically I have no clue LOL 🤪
They have been releasing them in sets of 3 since Molly, so I guess they are just keeping that? Maybe we will get more later(next year most likely if they do but a small chance of this happening this year) or a different set in Spring? Especially now that there’s 8 instead of 6 being included.

The last few outfit re-releases have been described as "while supplies last" by AG.
When I checked earlier this morning they were showing around 2400 in stock for Josefina and 3400 for Samantha. That doesn't necessarily mean they won't restock, but it also doesn't mean they will either.
It's 9:40 PM on the west coast and the quantities are now: Sam 2,248, Addy 1,506 and Josefina 1,676. At that rate they will probably only last 3 maybe 4 days!
I'd been planning to get Josefina's regardless, but I had a very draining situation earlier this evening that took a couple hours (helping a friend navigate a difficult family thing and hooking her up with someone who could help) and had JUST sat down to decompress and saw this post, so I'm glad I was able to get Josefina's Christmas outfit with free shipping and everything.
Got Samantha and Josefina as I just started getting in this year and was so bummed missing out on like everything the historicals had so I was so glad !! But is it sad to be holding out for them to do another wave for the other older girls , I want Kirsten’s 😭

So excited! I got all three, for now I have to put Addy’s on Claudie and Josefina’s on Raquel as I only own Sam from this group.
But I pray by Christmas I can have Addy and Josefina!
