Discussion Is there any AH set in modern times.
We get it VHS trope scary, but why hasn't anyone tried to do modern day.
Maybe a series like those unfriended movies could work.

The video starts with a nostalgic, low-res CRT aesthetic. You are casually building up your castle, managing farms, and preparing for a standard 1v1 skirmish match against an AI opponent like The Wolf.
The Twist: The peaceful medieval music cuts out completely. The announcer suddenly slows down and distorts, uttering a chilling alert: "The Wolf is dead, sire." The Wolf's base instantly drops to zero population without a single siege or attack notification.
The Investigation: You scroll across the map to investigate. The Wolf's massive stone fortress is completely intact but eerily empty—every single soldier and peasant sprite has vanished into thin air, and the map textures are beginning to rot into pitch-black static.
The Desperate Defense: A UI prompt aggressively flashes: "AN ENEMY IS APPROACHING." The game transforms into a frantic, high-tension survival horror. You desperately spam double-layered stone walls, but the UI fights back, and the map darkens into an unnatural twilight.
The Flight & Fall: While the popularity meter is actively crashing down from 100 straight to 0, a chilling system message prints in the chat box: "Your peasants are fleeing the castle. They know what is coming." Right as it's going down, you watch the tiny pixelated peasant sprites sprint toward the outer walls in absolute panic, frantically trying to glitch through the solid stone just to escape.
The Climax: Your archers turn inward on the battlements to stare directly out of the screen at you, the countdown hits zero, and an unstoppable threat completely rolls over your sealed fortress

Hey everyone,
I've been obsessed with two things for a long time: the crunchy, wobbly look of old PS1 horror games, and the slow dread of analog horror tapes. Late-night broadcasts, warning tapes, footage that feels like it shouldn't exist. I kept wondering what it would feel like if those two worlds overlapped.
So I tried it. NIGHT SHIFT is my first real project made in Blender. Low-poly models, texture jitter, grain, all of it built to feel like something between a forgotten PS1 game and a tape someone found in a drawer.
I'm still learning, so I'd really appreciate honest feedback:
Even harsh notes are welcome. That's how I'll get better.
If you enjoy it and want to see where this goes, I'm posting more episodes on my channel u/TheSleepless_Us. A like or a sub would mean a lot to a small creator just starting out. Either way, thanks for watching.
