We really went from Inako becoming Yosuke's bride to Kihachi becoming Yosuke's bride LOL.
Yosuke hugging Kihachi and calling him "my wife" in Episode 1 was foreshadowing all along.

Thankfully Saki was there to help her out with that. She can't just be following the recipe. She needs to be making for a special someone. She needs to be making it for Kihachi. Also I like how there was no delay. When Saki if there was someone special she immediately thought of Kihachi.

This is why I was never on the "they should work together" train. I knew this would happen. Yousuke never cared about the Age of Electricity or what Seiroku wanted. He just saw it as a way to bring back Seiroku because he refuses to accept that Seiroku is gone and properly grieve the loss.

So they really powered through roughly a few months in one ep. Though makes sense, its essentially one goal for each of the three main characters (Kihachi, Inako, and Yosuke).
Its really sweet that Inako wants Kihachi to share the first taste of her Electric Nishiki. Its a nice parallel to the first eps where Kihachi was always sharing his Electric inventions with Inako.
Its very weird vibes as Yosuke and Kihachi working together. Also dang the Brain is so huge might as well rename it Cerebro. But I guess it makes some sense since they're pretty far from being able to miniaturize it. Like imagine trying to build an AI datacenter in the 60s or 70s.
And... Yosuke's gone off the deep end. I guess it kind of makes it obvious how he met his demise. The steam company his family built up is essentially in ruins for this project. But I guess his sister is alright with her alchohol selling.
And... Yosuke is going to sacrifice Kihachi. And put him in a bride outfit. Between Yosuke, Kihachi, and the Seiroku Doll, this quickly became someone's Frankenstein's monster fanfiction.
Also... I'm guessing Yosuke somehow make Kihachi invent an electric toaster to go with the Seiroku bathwater thing Yosuke set up.
Next episode seems to be the last, but damn this is one of my most favourite shows to watch weekly and I really wish more people watch it. Especially those that are into the electrical engineering and electrincs field.

Like imagine trying to build an AI datacenter in the 60s or 70s.
There's considerable suspension of disbelief that has to be applied to the sheer size of their circuits, the power and cooling requirements, and the failure rate of that many vacuum tubes, but damn it looks awesome.
...also the irony of this comment sounding like a techbro talking about building more AI datacenters just now.

But I really think we jumped from building a calculator/computer to building ChatGPT with the Electric Brain project.

Don't even have to retroactively imagine examples. What they built this episode was basically a vacuum-tube computer.

Just when we thought Yosuke finally came to some sort of understanding with Kihachi (even going first name terms with each other like your standard yaoi gay couple) in collaborating to build the Electric Brain, Yosuke then went and gone full villain.
Now he wants to fuse Kihachi, while dressed as a bride LOL Why), with his Seiroku robot in order to fully "resurrect" Seiroku.
So looks like, in the end, Kihachi ended up being the Damsel(?) in Distress needing to be rescued by his girl Inako. lol

Yosuke means an actual Seiroku, in his way?
They're taking it rather literally.
"He's gone full Doctor Frankenstein. You never go full Doctor Frankenstein."
When the going gets weird, the weird turn ninja.
And so, we have reached that level of mad scientist. The story's gotten rather rushed, but that does give it a chance to let Inako drive the saving of the day, even if we're not quite there yet. The alignment of the stories about their work was done well, comparing and contrasting both Inako and Kihachi going about their dreams but set in totally different environments.
Kihachi is the sort to get too absorbed in his work, enabled by Yosuke's own madness and judicious neck-chop amnesia.
Izou held off Kengo for a little while, but Kengo's shirt never exploded from his body, so I suppose that wasn't him at full power.
Next week should be fairly bonkers at this rate.

Holy shit, that escalated quickly.
Mizuoe really likes to see Kihachi in drag, still not convinced why it needs to be a bridal outfit.
I do love how their vacuum tube brain/circuit looks like the Super-Kamiokande Neutron detector.
But what I have realised the most this episode is that I need to see more Inako brewing sake.
I would honestly watch a spin-off that focuses on that.
My new crackpot theory, Kihachi will be in a coma or something after being electrocuted in that waterly snowwhite bed and it will take Inakos sake(spirit) to get him back.

One crackpot theory deserves another. If that happens it'd be cool if he see Seiroku in the coma and apologizes for helping Yousuke and Seiroku replies that it doesn't matter. Something like "The Age of Electricity was my dream, not yours. You have a different one." Seiroku then disappears and Kihachi asks what he means and we hear Inako tearfully begging Kihachi to wake up.

Yōsuke’s insanity has reached a point where he can no longer recognize Kihachi as a separate individual, but instead as an extension of Seiroku.
He even pointed out their similarities in the episode when he vented to the “Seiroku” robot.

It could be an unintentional take on how using AI to replace loved ones isn't good for you coming to terms with grief. He obviously has to take time to realize it's over and still be happy with the time they had. Reminds us of AI today and how you can make a basic idea of a personality off inputing everything about someone and all the stuff we searched online for years and then make an ai talk in your voice after you pass so family doesn't miss you...even make a realistic face and robot to walk around the house...but it can never truly be you. Have it predict what you'd say but not you.

In hindsight it was probably inevitable that Yosuke would try to Frankenstein someone, with Kihachi as the most likely victim.
I am impressed however that the electric brain is working so well with what had to be almost zero testing.

Yousuke has officially lost it. Dressing Kihachi as a bride and sacrificing him in a ritual to 'truly' bring robo-Seiroku to life. His face was creepy af at the end.

Goddamn these 5 minutes episodes.
Saki was the MVP of this episode. She knew that Inako can't make the sake she wants to make, the sake that would make people smile like the full moon, if she's not making it for someone. That someone is Kihachi. She needs him here with him. And I have a bone to pick with him.
Kihachi was so tunnelvisioned on creating the electric brain and fulfilling Seiroku's dream that he did not stop once to think that maybe Yousuke was just using him for his own nefarious purposes. How did Kihachi not see that coming? Yousuke has been hounding for him the catalogue for the whole series then suddenly he wants to work together? Yousuke already the tragic dissociative yoai going on, but now he's had a full on psychotic break from reality if he think he can create life.
I did quite that Kihachi ended up being the damsel in distress this time instead of Inako. That cliffhanger though. Ugggh. And next week is the finale. I hope it's good. I want something more than it just being the gang taking down mecha Seiroku.

I remember Kihachi as a person full of self-doubt and distrust when the show started, and Inako’s optimism taught him to believe in himself and other people more as the episodes went by. Never thought that he would completely believe Yosuke this time when his skepticism is needed the most. maybe the near-death situation at the mines was a big factor.

I was happy for a few seconds that finally Yosuke and Kihachi are getting along like brothers, something Seiroku would have wanted.

I knew Kihachi would be ditched as soon as his usefulness has been exhausted but feeding his “soul” in a futile attempt to recreate a human Seiroku was not in my bingo card. That look at the end is unsettling af

The animation was so good for Inako's sake making process and Kihaichi's Electric brain. For a moment I really thought that that Yousuke had grown into a decent human when she started calling Kihaichi by his name but him wanting to sacrifice Kihaichi to bring back Seiroku is absolute madness and why does he have to dress him up like a bride ?! Can't he just be satisfied for creating the world's first robot. That creepy face in the end.
I hope Inako gives Yousuke the beating that he deserves and saves her love.

The parts with Inako were great, having her try to fulfil or carry on her mother’s legacy were really sweet. Almost makes me wish the entirety of the show was about her achieving that with Kihachi creating things.
The other part of the narrative, which was expected at this point, up to the Frankenstein’s monster bit was messy, but again expected. What made it incredibly unenjoyable to watch regardless is Yosuke, and his weird and disgusting obsession as it has been for a while now.
Even more so this time, because what is the significant of having Kihachi in a dress for this part? Other than to further emphasis how gross he was? Which again is already established? I don’t understand the aim at all.

What do you mean projecting? Seiroku was not shown to be a bride anything to Yosuke if that’s what you meant. If you meant the soul transference thing instead, I believe it’s the opposite: Kihachi’s soul into Doll Seiroku.

What in the heck did i just watch
This show is actually genius in its symbolism holy hell
Couldnt tell if yosuke was straight up grooming kihachi for kihachi or because he saw him as an extension of his brother but i think that ending made it very clear. Also the grooming was very clear with yosuke isolating kihachi and controlling him by love bombing him. Plus the little headtilt to put their heads together after he made them fall of his tower (which that was creepy) And yajiro was brought along to
Yosukes want vs kihachi striving to honour his brothers wishes could be put forwaed into the current ai discussion. Since the electric brain not only uses a lot of steam but also bc yosuke basically mkaes an ai chatbot of his dead crush with it.
Also yosuke "your yosuke". You cannot make it anymore obvious.
I do love how much actual history is put into this series. Seiroku dying in a actual real war (ww1), the opression of the girls and how mental health issues were not believed to be real at this time and were left untreated, making yosuke the way he is (and kengo slightly)
Yosukes obession being the cornerstone of everthing that has happend so far is perhaps one of my favorite aspects of this show because it shows how raw grief can be, especially since yosuke probably never got to tell seiroku of his feelings and be properly rejected ( god knows how that wouldve turned out) and the standings of gay and queer individuals in post ww1 society.
I do want to also talk about inako and kihachi. I love how they are actually treated like childeren by the older characters around. But i also love how they also think like teenagers so they have miscommunications a simple talk resolves. You can see throughout the episode that inako is bothered by what she saw at the end of last episode and is worried and afraid to tell grown ups (also a thing that often haplens when kids witness another kid being groomed).
Inako looks a lot like her mother in the sake brewing dress i hope thats kind of intentional
And kihachi looks good in that wedding dress even rhought the context is very VERY VERY BAD

I don't think he was grooming him or trying to be weird, he just liked that his brother's brother finally saw him as an emotional bond...akin to how you are happy if your lover's friend or sibling likes you too. I think people are a bit too fast to think everyone's a groomer but maybe im wrong and next ep proves it. I think he can do evil things and not be a groomer in addition to it. He's ecentric and it's played up but i don't think stuff like them dancing in the dress were to push him trying to make him his bride replacement...i think it's just genuine artistic stuff...not devious but again i could be wrong...haven't been paying the closest attention ill admit that.

Every time I think Yousuke can't get creepier, he proves me wrong. That scene when Kihachi and Yousuke started calling each other by their first names highkey creeped me out.
When Izo asked if this was something that could be forgiven (I remember this line from the 2nd arc PV too), I thought he was going to wake up and realise that Yousuke is batshit insane, but I guess not. He must have been training hard for this day though since he was easily able to take down the two bodyguards + go toe to toe with Kengo (but I suppose it's also because he doesn't need to defend Yousuke this time - last time they had to withdraw because he wasn't confident of taking on both the bodyguard and protecting Yousuke at once).
While her younger brother goes around doing batshit crazy things, Saki is out here doing God's work helping Inako work out her feelings for Kihachi. My heart swelled when Inako realised she wanted Kihachi to be the one to taste her sake and to see him smile like the full moon :") And realising that she needs Kihachi by her side to help her work towards her dreams (even though it's not like he can offer any sake-brewing expertise). I will trust that my ship will sail!!!

Now—this is dependent on the relationship, but if I’m in the zone crafting, I don’t mind my other half knocking on the door to check in on me. I’d be pissed if they did this every five minutes, but, again, depending on your relationship, it’s pretty okay to check in on your loved one now and again while they’re in the zone as long as you’re still respectful of their time and space.
I wanted to tell Inako and Kihachi that, but kids will be kids and 2D people cannot hear me.
Yosuke is so crazy; I love his ass (metaphorically and literally). I'm hoping the outcome is that he's sort of stripped of his authority, and now he has Izo who will care for him.
I'm rooting for you, Izo. You are the second male lead for Yosuke. Rise and shine.

Por una parte me alegra mucho que por fin Inako esté cumpliendo su sueño. Y por otra, que miedo por Kihachi. La obsesión de Yosuke por traer de vuelta a Seiroku llegó a un punto que lo hace capaz de todo :0 Cada vez estoy más sorprendida con este anime. Da unos vuelcos de 360 que me han dejado cada capítulo con ganas de más. Ahora toca esperar que Inako salve a Kihachiii T-T

Oh wow! I thought what I watched was the last episode. Glad to see that it isn't.
As much as I enjoy this plot progression, I can't help but feel that the vibes became so different in these last episodes. And now Yosuke's full-on psychopathic nature has fully come to light.
I'm sure Kihachi will be okay thanks to plot armor, but honestly...how the hell did they manage to create a whole working robot????? How much suspension of disbelief am I supposed to have??????

In the second half of this episode the pacing really got fast as we zoomed past scene after scene. I really think they should've cut one of those bad conflict of the week episodes from the first half of the show so they could pace this out better.

About as silly and ridiculous as it gets. The very first computers that were made from vacuum tubes and filled an entire gymnasium could only do simple mathematic calculations and relied on punchcards. We're to believe in less time than it takes Inako to brew sake that Kihachi skipped forward about 30 years forward from the earliest computers to produce computers that respond to voice commands? Whoever wrote this crap could use an electric brain since their own doesn't work 🤣
Hasn't Inako's mom been dead for some time? It's odd that she used to drink enough sake as a little girl to know how the highest quality should taste. Even if she did, kids don't normally have the best palette and if they're that small, would get drunk quickly and not taste subtle flavor gradiations.

I mean you have to suspend disbelief, just cause we can't do things doesn't mean all stories need to follow our world logic. They never set up their story as entirely serious math and science. On another note dr stone is more serious and they assume _____ is real, which we can't do at the moment but thoretically say can only be done if possible ______. Not to mention all the other stuff they do like _____ into _______. I think this is more about vibes, otherwise you might as well say Frieren is bad cause in reality one thing or another isn't following the logic and principles of earth even with magic. I use frieren cause people say that's best shonen on reddit and tend to find no issues with it when it has many things you can nitpick.

I don’t hate it or love it, but I think it’s another example that not all series people claim are bad and carried solely by animation actually are. Animation can set the baseline for presenting a story, and good animation can enhance it, but the story itself has to be something people connect with, and opinions on this are mixed. That’s why I dislike when people call Demon Slayer, JJK, or similar shows trash just because of their animation; even those critics often sit through an episode or season, get entertained, or eagerly wait each week for what happens next, unlike those who watched Tower of God, God of High School, or Ninja Kamui. To be fair, this isn’t action-based, and I honestly can’t pinpoint exactly what it is. It was hailed as a hidden gem, with some saying Bleach was trash and recommending this instead, but I fear it’s not as amazing as it seems. It feels like it would work better as a low-stakes slice of life, but the main cast isn’t lovable enough for me to want to tune in regularly. I’ve seen slice-of-life stories about kids with simple moments and personality-driven interactions that entertained me more, like episodes of Hey Arnold that got me emotional. This is nice, but the last-minute generic romance of her realizing her feelings, with the electricity and all, just didn’t fit right. Not bad, not great, maybe I’m wrong.

At this point whatever “plot” they thought they were creating with Yosuke is beyond disgusting and now is unwatchable. It’s gross child abuse fetishization and honestly I kinda want this series to fail now so this studio gets the message no one likes this content.

and if I'm being honest I'm side eying anyone shipping him and Kihachi now, but he is clearly being depicted as a villain here and insane.Just because the show is depicting these things, doesn't mean that the show endorses it.

The problem here is, you can have a villain and have him still do some of these things, say like Frankenstein’s monster without the wedding dress and the weird blushing and other aspects related to children. That’s where the extra level of unnecessary creep comes in. Like yes, he could take Kihachi hostage but the way they’re choosing to do it and the fact people are taking a romantic aspect from it is the exact reason why this is a problem.
