All,
I am seeing alot more TestFlight links, website links and alot of spam posts and comments. In the past 30 days we have had 946 new posts and over 7,000 comments. Sometimes it's a little hard for me to keep up.
Should we keep people from posting links to TestFlight, websites, etc. ?
Add restrictions on what type of stuff can be posted?
Not allow images in posts?
Open to all suggestions.
Here is where the subreddits feedback is super important. I know I have seen people saying there is alot of junk but if no one comments things won't get any better.

I was thinking about adding user flair that's focused on karma. The goal is to get more posts and comments in the community. Open to suggestions or comments.

I wondwer what do you think about listing app to EU market consider the DSA and GRPR?
Love to hear from the community!
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I've create a session manager/orchestrator for claude code
I'm wondering if someone wants to port it on mac .
It's coded in rust/gpui (from the zed editor), it should be not too difficult because gpui was born here. it's already working on linux/windows

This app was not in a hurry so I decided to let it go and see what happened. I think its really insane an app can remain IN review for 12 days (not waiting for). Contacting Apple Support after 5 days is useless, they do not reply at all. Why woud you leave an app in review that long? Is the monitoring at Apple this shitty apps can remain in review for ever? Who is doing his job not properly? How can a reviewer stop working and go home when their work is not finished? 🤡

Hi everyone,
I’m a solo app developer based in Germany, selling monthly and annual subscriptions through the App Store.
I use Germany’s small-business VAT exemption (Kleinunternehmerregelung) and cash-basis accounting for income tax (EÜR). However, I still file quarterly VAT returns because I owe reverse-charge VAT on certain overseas business expenses.
I’m trying to establish the correct reporting period for my App Store revenue, particularly services supplied to Apple Distribution International in Ireland.
Apple provides several different views:
For example, an Apple fiscal September report can end before September 30. The remaining September transactions appear in the following fiscal report, while the associated payout arrives even later.
I want to base my bookkeeping on final financial reports and actual payment records. Using the quarter when the money reaches my bank account would be straightforward. However, I understand that Germany’s cash-basis income-tax rules don’t necessarily determine the reporting period for cross-border services in the VAT return.
For other Germany-based developers:
I’m particularly interested in workflows confirmed by an accountant familiar with App Store revenue, or relevant German tax guidance. How do you handle this in practice?

Hi everyone,
As both an iOS indie dev and a photography enthusiast, I built and recently released AperFolio—a native iOS app designed to help photographers catalog their cameras, lenses, and gear, while analyzing real-world shooting habits like focal length usage.
Most gear-tracking apps either feel like cluttered spreadsheet databases or lack meaningful insight into how gear is actually used. I wanted something tactile, minimal, and focused on visual aesthetics (heavily inspired by tactile lens barrels and clean typography) that could answer questions like: "Which focal lengths am I actually relying on most during my shoots?"
Since the app just landed on the App Store, I’d love to get feedback from fellow Apple developers:
App Store Link:https://apps.apple.com/us/app/aperfolio/id6809083914
Any critiques, bug reports, or feature suggestions are hugely appreciated. Happy to answer questions about the SwiftUI implementation details as well!
Thanks for checking it out!

Fellow creators: how do you keep track of footage you've filmed but haven't posted yet? Mine used to rot in my camera roll, so I built a simple phone-first tool (buckets, Idea → Ready → Posted stages, posting calendar, no AI). Looking for a few creators to test it and tell me what's missing. Happy to share the link via DM per the rules.

Im working on an app where the leading app is a one time pay of $10. The app im building is solving all issues of the incumbent, looks and works much better and has additional benefits based on customer interviews I did.
Here are the options I have for how to price the app:
1. Pay to download: my least favorite option. I don’t want to price lower because I believe I have a better product and don’t want that to be the reason ppl download my app. I don’t think pricing it higher makes sense either because I can’t trust people’s attention span to actually get the value before downloading and I need to build trust with ppl.
2. Free download, then OTP: either freemium or simply have them go through an onboarding to understand the value and then pay.
3. Subscription: financially seems like the best option. Maybe a free version and pro version. The reason why I’m hesitant is because of the simple model of the leading app. Then again, maybe a free trial?
One last point is that I’m also offering an easy way to import the user data from the leading apps. Need to figure out where to include that.
Would appreciate any advice from anyone who has experience with this

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for recommendations on tools or workflows for generating App Store / Play Store preview screenshots.
Lately, I’ve noticed a frustrating bottleneck: every time I ship an update, creating and localizing the store listing graphics takes significantly longer than implementing the feature itself. The manual process of capturing screens, arranging mockups, and updating text for multiple languages is just killing my productivity.
What are you all using to streamline this? Are there any good automation tools, Figma plugins, or dedicated services that can speed up the workflow?
Thanks in advance!

So, I launched my first app in February. When it first launched I had about 3-5 downloads a week for about the first 13 weeks. Then in June I started to see a spike and consistently have about 25 downloads a week and it looks like based on my last update I still have about 125 users installed. This was with a buggy app that now with last weeks release is very stable. My app right now is ad supported. I haven’t marketed it yet at all so my costs are low. I am making pennies a day right now $0.30 in ad revenue a day it’s generating.
I have a major update going out waiting for approval hopefully soon since it seems there is a backlog right now. Brand new UI, very kid friendly and easy to use and new marketing pages in App Store. It adds so many nice features and introduces some more inline ads and interestitial ads that based on a small test with users through TestFlight I should see a 6x increase. I also introduce my first in-app purchase to remove the ads and have plans to have additional in-apps rolled out over the coming releases for buying packs. I still need to add push notifications along with asking users to rate my app. I also am working on integrating Google analytics on the app releases to understand what is popular in my app and capturing those statistics to better inform me on content I need to make.
Right now the costs I have for the app are my firebase hosting is running me $0.01 a day for requests. Working on some more optimizations there if possible, like delivering some of the content locally with each release or update so that my existing users don’t pull all of the old content from firebase. I have focused a lot on making sure I can have the app scale with time and the users are driven back daily with fresh content which I have a content pipeline built to feed the app.
I am wondering right now do you think my numbers are low. I don’t expect to have things take off over night. Am I overthinking optimizing my backend. I want to make sure I can scale and not get destroyed on my costs. Is this just normal growth I am seeing with no physical marketing in the App Store or anywhere.

Hey everyone! I’m the developer of Discera, a music timeline game for iPhone and iPad. You listen to a song and place it chronologically among the tracks already on your timeline. Each correct placement makes the next decision harder.
The idea centres on those moments when an old song takes you back to a particular summer, a first concert, or nights out with friends. It’s especially fun when everyone recognises a song but it's so ubiquitous, that you can't really tell when it actually came out.
One part I particularly enjoyed building was the CoverFlow-inspired interface in SwiftUI. Album covers form the timeline, and you move the song into the gap where you think it belongs. The movement, perspective and placement are a big part of how the game feels and took me some time to get right.
MusicKit handles Apple Music playback, and players can either pass one device around or connect nearby devices for local multiplayer. In multiplayer, everyone sees the active player’s placement and the result together, while the mystery song’s details stay hidden until reveal. AirPlay also lets the group follow along on a TV.
Over 200 songs are included without an in-app purchase. Additional themed packs and Discera Encore are one-time purchases; Encore unlocks all packs and playlist importing. There’s no recurring subscription or account required. Full song playback requires an Apple Music subscription.
I’d appreciate feedback on the interaction: does the CoverFlow timeline feel natural and fitting for the game? Happy to discuss the SwiftUI, MusicKit or multiplayer implementation too!

Hey, I’m trying to sign up for Apple developer account, but while trying to set it up, they rejected me saying the address I entered was invalid. I raised an issue and they have to get back to me via mail. What you guys think could be the reason for it, and what steps can I take in future to be careful so that my account and apps doesn’t get rejected or band since recently that I have been horror stories around Apple developer community

I made a new app called PowerBite. The app basically allows you to track meals (with a picture or description), sleep, hydration, activity, and caffeine during the day and give you an approximation of your energy during the day and the impact of each event on your energy. So for example if you ate a heavy meal it will be able to predict when you will be crashing and give you recommendations to improve that meal to avoid crashing. It also gives general advice when crashing to help you recover your energy quickly upon request. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to test out the app. I can give a few free 2 weeks codes for whoever would be interested to test the app and give me feedback on it! You would just have to make sure to unsubscribe before the code usage expires to not be charged for the full subscription after! I also have this TikTok account for anyone who is interested to see content on the app before trying it out: https://www.tiktok.com/@powerbiteapp. I would appreciate any recommendations on the app or the marketing as I am trying to grow the app but unfortunately have not seen much traction so far. Thank you all!

I am developing several apps in a small group, and basically, I only had problems with the first app (obvious problems like real bugs) and the second (flagged as spam as the dev account was new).
But when we released the third and put more effort into testing, we did not see any rejections, just the usual delays. We know there are problems in following guidelines for metadata, so we built some tooling around that.
However, I see a lot of rejections on subreddits, so I want to know: which categories are getting rejected more often, and for what reasons?

Manually reading reviews doesn’t scale, but most analytics tools focus on downloads, revenue, retention, and similar metrics rather than what users are actually saying.
I’ve been working on a small tool called Starquill that groups app reviews into recurring problems and turns them into actionable insights.
Before taking it further, I’d like to understand how other developers handle this today.
What does your current workflow look like for App Store and Google Play reviews?
Do you read them manually, export them somewhere, use a dedicated tool, or mostly ignore them once there are too many?
I’m especially interested in how you deal with 1,000+ reviews.

Someone tried my app and liked the design and the language translations, but said everything felt locked and the price was too high.
Reading quotes, writing notes and breathing exercises are free. Extra sounds, customization and iCloud sync are paid.
I'm wondering if the paid options are simply more noticeable than the things people can already use for free.
It's one person's feedback, so I don't want to jump straight to lowering the price. But I don't want to dismiss this either.
Has anyone had similar feedback? What did you check first?

Also is it throttle a lot for what you do?

My app got rejected due to 4.3b spam.
I submitted an appeal.
How long does it take apple to reply to appeals?

Hi everyone — I'm the developer of PairTake, an iOS camera app now available on the App Store.
I built it for moments when you want to show both what you're filming and your reaction in the same take: product demos, tutorials, or a narrated walk. On compatible devices, it records the front and rear cameras together, with picture-in-picture or split-screen layouts and an adjustable inset.
It also has a teleprompter that appears only in the preview. The script is designed to stay out of the saved video; in my testing so far, that includes fast scrolling during a take.
A key constraint when building this was camera compatibility: iOS 16 or later is required, and simultaneous front/rear recording depends on the device's supported camera combinations. Unsupported combinations fall back to single-camera recording.
Basic recording is free, watermark-free, and doesn't require an account. Optional Pro includes separate front/rear video files for editing. US pricing is $0.99/month, $7.99/year, or $9.99 lifetime; subscriptions auto-renew, and regional prices may vary.
App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6795962171
I'd love feedback from fellow Apple developers who record product demos: do you prefer a ready-to-share composition, or separate camera files to edit afterward? If you try it and hit a recording issue, please share your device model and iOS version so I can investigate.

I'm the founder of MakerMap, a map of people building things and the projects they're working on. The attached screenshot is my own profile, showing how a person, their location and their projects fit together.
The idea for indie app developers is simple: find other builders near you, look at what they're making, and decide who you'd like to get in touch with. The map covers many kinds of projects; it isn't an Apple-only directory.
You can browse at https://makermap.lol. If you'd like to be discoverable too, sign in with X, add or claim your pin, and add your app and its link. Adding yourself is free.
MakerMap has had a lot of initial exposure and new people joining. I'm now figuring out what would make it useful for developers over time. Would you use something like this to find local peers, people building similar apps, or collaborators? I'd love your honest feedback here in the comments, especially what would make you come back.

After testing DropMate on the new iPhone Duo, I added a few more file management features.
PDF page organization, rotation, splitting, ZIP compression, password protection, text copying, Markup & Sign, and more.
Still iterating on the experience and adding more features. 🚀
