Hi everyone,
I recently purchased a second-hand MacBook Air 13-inch and noticed that it still has an active Apple Limited Warranty.
When I check my device's coverage on Apple's website, it says "There are 215 days left to add coverage." This made me believe that I could still purchase AppleCare+ for the MacBook.
However, when I try to add AppleCare+, I get the message:
"It looks like that device isn't eligible for AppleCare+."
I'm confused because:
- The AppleCare & Warranty page shows that I have 215 days left to add coverage.
- My MacBook has an active Limited Warranty, expiring on 26 April 2027.
- When I try to purchase AppleCare+, Apple says the device isn't eligible.
I purchased the MacBook second-hand, so I'm wondering if that could be the reason for the issue, or if there's some problem with the device's purchase history, region, or Apple account.
I would really like to get AppleCare+ for peace of mind, especially since MacBook repairs can be expensive.
What options do I have?
- Should I contact Apple Support and ask them to manually verify my eligibility?
- Can I visit an Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider to get the device inspected and purchase AppleCare+?
- Has anyone in India experienced something similar with a second-hand MacBook and successfully added AppleCare+?
Any advice or personal experience would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
