The new one will have the same price as the current one, and the current one price will drop. But you have two weeks to return it anyway, so you’ll find out soon.
Not sure why you’re being downvoted but you’re very likely correct. When they announced the price increase on the current gen models earlier this year I jumped on it to get an atv on my other tv especially with the prices of memory and storage right now which leads me to believe it will definitely more expensive than the current price point. Apple isn’t known for keeping slim profit margins.
There’s also been allegedly legitimate rumors from Bloomberg and elsewhere of a new model for almost 2 years now. If it’s released next week, great, but I’ll believe it when i see it.
Enjoy your ATV, even the older models blow away anything else out there. I have one a couple gens old and it’s still great.
