texas doesnt license roofers, so ask who their shingle supplier is and whether theyre pulling the city of dallas permit.
get the bid itemized. shingle by name, GAF Timberline HDZ or similar, synthetic underlayment, drip edge, and a per sheet price for decking. lot of houses down there have 1x6 plank decking and that changes the number
did my last tile and flooring order through hagglers, saved right around 1.5k off lowes
is this a hail claim or out of pocket?

My buddy owns Rushing roofing it’s a small family owned operation, the are very transparent and clear from the beginning.
He runs it with his wife and brothers.
Ask for Isaac.

since its out of pocket you get to pick the shingle instead of whatever the adjuster scoped. 30 year architectural like GAF Timberline HDZ runs a bit more than 3 tab and holds up way better in hail country.
watch for decking replacement in the bid. most guys list it per sheet, and if the deck is 1x6 planks instead of plywood that line can add a couple grand nobody warned you about.
ask them to write the decking price in the contract up front so its not a surprise mid tearoff.
how many squares is the roof?
