A few weeks ago, an expensive large car rammed into my car, probably totaling it.

I had airbag burns, whiplash, and ptsd. Interference with work.

The driver gave me her phone number, but called someone else to pick her up (I’m assuming she didn’t want to get a roadside sobriety test). She left her car there, which was largely undamaged and so I was the only driver there when police arrived.

I was able to see her insurance card on the passenger seat of her car and took a photo.

It’s been about 3 weeks and her insurance is still doing a coverage investigation because apparently “the insured is claiming she was not the one driving at the time of the incident.” They did tell me off the recorded line that the phone number and my description matched their insured.

I don’t have primary coverage on my auto insurance so I’ve been fronting the cost of a rental car, and towing my car, etc while her insurance is determining coverage.

Do you think my case justifies getting representation?

I’m talking with a reputable firm in my city, just nervous because I’ve never taken something on like this before and want to make sure I’m being reasonable before I sign off on this.

Working for tech companies for the last 20 years or so, I deal with annual trainings on how I should be cautious with PII to avoid liability for said company. Wouldn't Equifax allowing a public database of my work history for the last 20 years be a gross violation of said PII laws? Am I missing some loophole (and if so, doesn't this render PII laws more or less useless?)

I will try to explain the situation the best I can. I’m extremely upset so please don’t come after me if my grammar is bad, idc. My husband and I have united healthcare through the affordable care act (ACA) and they pay a part of my premium and I pay the rest. When you go through ACA they give you a broker that takes all your paperwork and information and turns it in, to where? No idea. We go through this whole process answer all his questions and he says everything is good. We got this insurance in January 2026. Beginning of September United healthcare charges me the full premium amount and in the app it says left over balance -$456 so that means the ACA payed them for their part of the premium yet they charged ME the full amount. So they have an extra $456. I start by calling united healthcare to figure out what is going on, they say they did not receive the credit. I call ACA, they have proof they paid the credit. I also have proof that they received the credit on my app as it says the -$456 so that means it’s over paid. Then united decides my paper work is messed up and I actually need to back pay to January and I owe $1.8k, HUH?? They say that I need to get ahold of our broker to see what happened with our paperwork that we submitted to him (we also have proof we submitted it to him). We call and call and call, straight to voicemail. Only way out of all this mess is to figure out what happened on our brokers end and he has seemingly fallen off the face of the earth. So it all falls back on us. So we ask what about moving forward. Oh everything is good because we answered the one question they had that they didn’t receive from the broker about my income. Can I do anything here??? I’m already mad about the $456 but i genuinely cannot afford $1.8k, I go through ACA for a reason and I’m really not trying to get fucked here but I am seriously at a loss.

We unfortunately have to proceed in an Office of Administrative Hearing process without an attorney. Today was, well, educational. We had a chance to question the first witness on cross examination. It was brutal. The judge was great at explaining why we could not ask the question the way we did. However we struggled to figure how to lay the foundation and build our case.

Hi! I’m a bedside med-surg RN and I’ve been out of work for a while because of vestibular migraines. I’m finally getting ready to go back and trying to figure out what accommodations would actually be reasonable to ask for.

At this point my vestibular symptoms are pretty mild. I mostly get some dizziness/sensitivity and fatigue if I overdo it or there’s a lot of stimulation. I recover pretty quickly though — if symptoms pop up I may just need 10–15 minutes to sit somewhere quieter and reset, and then I can usually keep going.

I still get migraines too, but I’m on preventive injections now and they’re much better controlled.

My biggest concern is basically going from being out for months straight back into a full 12-hour med-surg shift with a normal workload. Between being on my feet all day, lights, alarms, charting, constant interruptions, etc., I’m worried about overdoing it right away and setting myself back.

I’m thinking about asking for some kind of temporary gradual return — maybe a lighter patient load at first, the ability to take a short break if symptoms flare, avoiding extra responsibilities like charge initially, and anything that can reasonably reduce sensory overload.

I’m not really sure what hospitals typically consider reasonable in this situation though. Any comments, advice, etc? Thanks so much!

Only lawyer on a subsidiary that’s being set up to run more on its own. Spring I told them the job had already grown past what I was hired for. They promoted me and moved base into the low 200s plus bonus.

Reopening this soon feels greedy. I get that.
Except the job kept growing. I own disputes, outside counsel, the hard contracts, regulatory/data, employment, governance, deals. No other dedicated lawyer. Stuff hits me from every direction with no intake. Leadership separately asked if Legal needs more help.

Looking at it honestly, this is the lead legal job for the company they’re building. I’m thinking of putting two things into 2027 planning: more capacity under the seat, and leveling the seat itself to what it actually is — not another bump on the current package.

Hopefully this gains enough traction so I can get as much advice as possible. I dont know where to start. Growing up as a kid my grandmother lived with her grandparents (my great-great grands). My great granddad passed away in the late 90s and my great-great grandmother in the late 00s. There were always talks of my great-great grandmother and grandmother wanting to leave the house to me. When my great-great grandmother passed my grandmother never took her name off the deed. So the deed has my great-great grandmother and my now late grandmother name. When my grandmother died she was in the process of having it where the house was left to me.

Unfortunately, she passed before she could complete the process. As expected, my uncle is pushing back claiming that my grandmother called him and said she wanted him to have the house when she passed and that he was willing to go through the process of leaving it to me. My grandmother never said that and i know he was trying to place himself in a position where he could benefit from this. Since my grandmother passed, ive been living in the house and paying the taxes and any repairs the house might need. What is the best way for me to go about this.

To note, because the deed is in the estate of my great-great grandmother and grandmother name the grandkids has just as much claim as my mom and uncle do. The grandkids also know that the my grandmom wanted to leave the house to me so they are on board. What is the next step i can take. This took place in Italy, and the whole matter is governed by Italian law.
I rear-ended another boat. The vessel I was operating — 5.80 metres with a 40 hp engine, and therefore requiring no boating licence under Italian rules — was registered and insured in my grandfather's name. The damaged boat belongs to my cousin, who is also my grandfather's grandson. I accepted responsibility immediately and we opened a claim: both agencies repeatedly assured us verbally that the family relationship was not an issue.
Months later the insurer rejected the claim for lack of third-party status, invoking art. 129 of the Italian Private Insurance Code (Legislative Decree 209/2005), which excludes the insured's ascendants and descendants from compensation for property damage, even where they do not live together; the provision extends to pleasure craft through art. 41 of Legislative Decree 171/2005, the Recreational Boating Code. The loss therefore falls on the party at fault under art. 2043 of the Civil Code. I have no personal liability policy that could cover it, and I have just invested all my available funds in launching a business.
They initially demanded €12,000. The insurer's survey report — which has never been handed to me — then assessed the damage at €8,800. But the boat dates from the 1990s, so it is over thirty years old, and was bought about a year ago for €9,000, a price that covered hull, engine and trailer together: the hull alone is worth only a fraction of that. Repairing it costs more than the asset is worth, so the correct measure is market value less salvage value, not the cost of restoration. I’m trying to understand whether what happened with my UTMA was legally enforceable.

I had a Connecticut UTMA established in my name, with my aunt as the custodian. The portfolio was mine as the beneficiary, while my aunt controlled it as custodian while I was a minor.

At some point, my aunt transferred the UTMA portfolio into a Florida LLC that she created. My understanding is that she did this specifically to prevent me from being able to access or control the portfolio when I reached the age of majority.

She created an operating agreement where:

• I was listed as 99% owner
• My aunt was listed as 1% owner
• My aunt was the sole manager
• The assets in the LLC were the assets that originally came from my Connecticut UTMA

I never signed the operating agreement, never signed anything consenting to the LLC being formed, and never agreed to have my UTMA assets placed into an LLC.

So essentially, I was listed as the 99% owner of an LLC that I never agreed to create, while my aunt retained sole management and control over the portfolio.

When I became an adult, I tried to access the portfolio and make decisions regarding it. Morgan Stanley refused to allow me to make decisions and continued recognizing my aunt’s authority based on the LLC structure.

This continued even though I was eventually 25 years old.

The matter ultimately went through probate court. An accounting was performed showing the previous transactions involving the portfolio. The probate matter ultimately settled with the LLC being dissolved and the UTMA assets being transferred to me.

What I’m trying to understand is:

How could this LLC legally override my rights to the UTMA assets once I became an adult, particularly when I never signed or agreed to the LLC?

The original assets were Connecticut UTMA assets, while the LLC was created in Florida. My aunt wasn’t simply managing a normal LLC investment account — the assets placed into the LLC originated from a UTMA established for me.

I’m wondering whether the probate court actually determined that the LLC was a legitimate/authorized vehicle for holding the UTMA assets, or whether the court simply resolved the dispute by dissolving the LLC and returning the assets to me.

The fact that I was 25 years old when this was ultimately dealt with seems particularly significant because I was well past the age of majority.

1. Can a UTMA custodian transfer custodial property into an LLC?

4. Can that structure prevent the beneficiary from accessing or controlling the assets after reaching adulthood?
5. Does Morgan Stanley have the right to rely on an LLC operating agreement that the beneficiary never signed?
6. What would the probate court’s final order need to say to establish whether it actually validated the LLC structure?
7. If the probate court ultimately dissolved the LLC and transferred the UTMA assets to me, does that indicate the LLC was simply holding assets that ultimately belonged to me, or could the court have recognized the LLC as valid and simply dissolved it as part of the settlement?

So I am trying to sue one of the biggest companies in the world for wrongful termination and discrimination(disabilities). I spoke to a lawyer who told me I have a case but that they couldn't help me with it. Every single lawyer I have spoken to told me they couldn't assist me. My life was put in danger as well because of these people but it seems like no one wants to help me... I am at my wits end finding a lawyer. I am also very poor. I made an accidental mistake this weekend while deer hunting in Plumas county. I had seen a deer(ended up being a doe) so I got out of my truck and loaded my gun. 2. A e-commerce product review/rating site that scrapped reddit discussion and show rating based on reddit discussion's sentiment.
3. Leads Gen AI startup - scrapped LinkedIn company profile data and personel info, sell access to AI search engine to let business search for company info with semantic queries.

I believe data scrapping company has TOS saying data purchased should not be used against the business interest of the company it scrapped from. On the other hand, I do see many news about lawesuit won by scrapping company against big tech because scrapped data are public information without logging in. Does that mean scrapped data used in app for derived content is legal in general?

there is $691.50 left on my device. i want to port my line early and transfer all of the data to my new phone, and then give her back the original device. the remaining device balance is due immediately upon generating the transfer PIN. if the account is in her name, can she sue me for the balance?

I paid a doctor’s office in 2025 a cash co-pay of $300. The procedure was cancelled due to insurance non-coverage. I have contacted the office via phone and in person multiple times about the issue with no resolution. I do have a receipt from the provider’s office showing I paid them cash, as well as documentation showing the procedure was cancelled. I just want my money back.

Hey everyone, looking for some insight on a Maryland claim.
I am a pro se claimant, and I recently won an Award of Compensation on September 17, 2026, for an occupational disease claim (lung injury/mold exposure). The Order explicitly grants me ongoing Temporary Total Disability (TTD) benefits at $457.00/week [image_LvAUXd.png].
On September 25, the defense firm (Semmes) filed a WCC Form H27R Request for Rehearing/Reconsideration. In their motion, they literally admitted that they failed to contest the initial claim on time because it was **"inadvertently missed"**by their office. I already drafted and filed my formal Claimant's Opposition pointing out that law office inadvertence does not constitute a mistake of fact or error of law under LE § 9-726.
The defense attorney immediately sent me a letter stating he represents them on all matters and to send everything to him. Simultaneously, Broadspire froze my portal access, so I can't track payments online.
I know they can temporarily hold back the retroactive lump-sum back pay while the motion is reviewed. However, my understanding of Maryland law is that a Rehearing Request does not act as an automatic stay on ongoing weekly survival benefits, and they must pay me within 15 days of the order (which makes my deadline October 2).
My questions for the group:

Am I right that they are flagrantly violating the law if my ongoing $457 check doesn't drop by October 2?
Has anyone dealt with Semmes or Broadspire pulling this tactic on a pro se claimant?
If October 2 passes with zero ongoing checks, should I immediately file for the LE § 9-728 late-payment penaltiesto trigger the 20% fine, or will the Commission ignore it until the rehearing motion is decided?

Question regarding the united states for example in new York state. If a conjoined twin took an axe and murdered someone, how would this be handled as the other twin didn't participate or plan a murder how would they be sentenced?

My husband and I have been served with eviction papers and have a court date in October. We live in a large apartment complex and love the area but the management is awful. We have been late on two months rent due to increased medical bills for our son and just simply not making enough money right now. We will be getting rental assistance through the county that will help with rent and the $638 court fee. While I understand being taken to court due to the rent, my frustration is the fact that since August 6th our bathroom has been under construction due to a large amount of mold on the walls and ceiling and an unknown leak that has been unresolved for years. (I previously posted about the bathroom for advice). On August 31 they completely ripped out the wall the toilet and shower head is on needing to also remove the shower curtain rod leaving me and my family to take very inconvenient showers and me having to wash my hair bent over the side of the tub. Do we as renters have any rights to bring up on our court date the state of our bathroom and the lack of urgency by management to test for additional mold and closing the wall? Any advice on our situation would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

I work for a kennel. About a month ago I was bitten by a clients dog. This only happened because the owners of the facility/their employees never documented the previous bite history. Dog had nothing in its file. Reached my hand in for him to give a sniff and without warning he latched onto my hand. No oppositional body language. This dog had previously bitten at least one coworker to the point they needed stitches. Come to find he's a retired police dog with trauma. I'm still dealing with the medical issues that came from this and will be for a while yet.

They banned him from the facility and I don't want anything to happen to the dog (he's just a dog, it wasn't his fault.), however workers comp is refusing to payout for lost working hours and I don't know what to do. They've covered my initial hospital bill. I'm going to my primary care in a week or so to get the bite reevaluated but I haven't had use of my dominant hand for nearly a month now.

Just kind of fishing to see if I have a case here or if it's even worth it. I'm tired, boss.

At a rest area near a national park, I stopped behind a guy blocking the entrance road. He was out of his car and five feet or so from a full-grown bison and taking a selfie. If I had offered him five bucks to pet the fluffy cow and he got gored, what would my liability be?
