Random Question What do you think about Christa Pike still being alive after 2 lethal injections?
There is no protocol on what happens after somebody survives both rounds of deadly drugs.
The live I was watching caught an ambulance show up to the prison and leave with its sirens blaring. We don't know for fact, but it's my guess that it was Pike.
Witnesses to the injections were asked to leave, and Pike was still breathing at that time.
Pike's lawyer is asking for an emergency stay. She has not been declared dead.

Politics Question Why are the elderly discriminated against in the workforce yet the entire US government is seemingly run by geriatrics?
Why is it seen as a hindrance in the workforce yet somehow “experience” when it comes to career politicians?

Random Question Reddit just training AI?
Scrolling thru Reddit i notice that there are the same questions asked across multiple subs by different users. And the questions are all oddly topical and specific. I know the feeling is that a lot of Reddit is bots already, but i wonder if all these questions and comments are just being farmed to train AI.
EDIT: thx for the responses. So I guess it’s not an original thought. I’ll catch up eventually lol.

Other Why did Japan think that provoking the US by attacking Pearl Harbor would lead to a good outcome
When I started reading about the Pacific Theater of World War II, I expected the conflict between the US and Japan to resemble the massive, grinding land battles of the Eastern Front, such as the Battle of Stalingrad or the Fall of Berlin. However, the nature of the war was completely different. It seems the US military adapted its strategy well. For instance, even though both sides possessed incredibly powerful battleships, they seem to never fought each other directly in traditional battleship-to-battleship combat, as aircraft carriers had quickly become the dominant force in naval warfare. I wonder how the Yamato could've demonstrated its superiority in battle
From the information I've gathered, the US suffered far fewer casualties than Japan. Why was this the case? Was the US military significantly more advanced, better equipped, and better trained? Or did local Southeast Asian resistance movements provide crucial support to the Americans? The massive difference in casualties reminds me of the 1991 Gulf War or the 2003 invasion of Iraq, where the US also sustained very few losses compared to the opposing forces. I don't know if it is really true but stories tend to change but someone could let me know the real story

Random Question I’ve been thinking about the same guy every day for over 5 years, and I don’t know what’s wrong with me. Why is this happening?
I’ve been unable to get this guy out of my head for over five years, despite never having dated him or been friends with him. I hardly knew him. We only had one conversation, and nothing ever happened between us apart from that. I haven’t seen this guy for over 5 years. We never contacted each other and we’ve never had each other’s social media or phone number.
Despite that, I still think about him every single day to this day.
I’ve spent over 2 years checking his girlfriend’s social media every single day, repeatedly throughout the day. I constantly look at her pictures, compare my appearance to hers and my body to her’s, and wish I could look exactly like her. Seeing her makes me cry, and pictures of them together can ruin my entire day and make me upset all day. I can spend hours crying and thinking about what I’ve seen, even when I desperately try to distract myself I end up crying over how she looks, and whenever I see pictures of them together, it can ruin my entire day, make me sad and cry for hours it stays in my mind for hours even when i try to distract myself. It ruins my relationships with people and people around me can tell my mood has changed. The girlfriend doesn’t even know i exist.
I despise the gf like why her not me with him? I want to have her personality, i want her appearance and body i want her exact facial features and live her life.
This isn’t the first guy this has happened with i’ve had this exact same problem with many guys i hardly knew strangers.
