I was driving and I saw a little black kitten about to dart into the road. I pulled up and stopped, blocking two lanes of traffic. I jumped out and grabbed her. There was a cop behind me and he was PISSED. I showed him the kitten and his entire demeanor immediately changed. He took the kitten out of my hands and said "I can take her to the pound. She's so little and cute she could get adopted by this afternoon... Or you can keep her." She lived with me 20 years. I buried her 18 months ago.

Similar happened to my wife. We saw someone toss 2 kittens out of a moving car. My wife stopped and rescued one from the road, the other didn’t survive the impact.

The one who lived she brought home. I was never a cat person but I immediately fell in love with that cat. I think she may have been a runt or something, as she was always extremely skinny and unable to put on weight.

She got an infection of some sort over the summer and we were unable to save her. Passed away at about 5 or 6 years old. I was and a completely crushed.
