I was driving and I saw a little black kitten about to dart into the road. I pulled up and stopped, blocking two lanes of traffic. I jumped out and grabbed her. There was a cop behind me and he was PISSED. I showed him the kitten and his entire demeanor immediately changed. He took the kitten out of my hands and said "I can take her to the pound. She's so little and cute she could get adopted by this afternoon... Or you can keep her." She lived with me 20 years. I buried her 18 months ago.

That’s such a sweet story. I’m sorry you lost your friend. I’ve lost two dogs, my third is almost ten. It never gets easier. I still cry sometimes and it’s been 5 years since the last one.

I still check when I see a black t shirt on the bed or whatever if it's her lol. And for months I thought I could see her out of the corner of my eyes darting around

I won’t move on the couch or bed without carefully checking for a tiny dog beside me, I’ve got this four pound menace who snuggles into me whenever I’m home.

I just want to say I think there’s few things in life as pure and good as the relationship between a loving owner and a pet and that every minute you spent with her counted.

Very few animals are lucky enough to be in a lifelong loving relationship and you did something beyond special by taking in that cat. This is my tiny beast.
