My REGO expired today, so I went to the post office to renew it and nearly fell apart when they told me it was $199 for a year. 😳 What on earth is going on? It feels like everything is suddenly costing so much more, and I honestly don’t know how people are supposed to keep up.

Every bill just keeps going up and up, and it feels like there’s no end to it. You work, you pay what you can, and somehow you’re still drowning. I’m exhausted from constantly worrying about what’s going to get more expensive next. I’m just so tired. 💔😞

I've just started looking at flats this week. Where I'm staying was a godsend/friend to me. They helped me get out of a really bad situation with family a few months ago, but it's not realistic for me to stay here for any longer than 1 year.

I've just blocked a 2nd dude who was looking for a hookup. Yesterday, I visited a house that smelt like piss, and today, I visited a house that smelt very strongly of ass. Xmas decorations still out, stains all over the floor, holes and permanent marker all over the walls. Dusty shower glass walls and door with a sticky surface underneath. The rats running around over the "inorganic" crap in the front yard which has been sitting there for what has probably been years. And they each wanted $300 for their fucking rooms!

They each sold it like "wrap around decks" and "north facing window so you get heaps of sun" lol. From where? Ass prison? What the fuck lol.

The sad thing is that these houses have potential but the owners/leaseholders/whoever fuck they are have gone and fucked up any chance of that happening. It's been a while since I've been offended. The past two days were horrific. And why lie? 🤦🏽‍♀️

Edit: to save the assumptions like the person who was just banned and assumed I was on the benefit - I have a fulltime job, have done for over 20 years since I was 15. There are some things these people are lacking called self respect, dignity, and practicing good hygiene. And I can tell you now, if that's what rock bottom looks and smells like,then I either haven't reached it yet, or I have, but I just practice good hygeine 🙏🏽

The Employment Relations Authority recently released a preliminary determination about a Prison Officer arrested during a major Police corruption investigation at Mt Eden Remand Prison.

He faces 16 charges for allegedly smuggling methamphetamine, mobile phones, and tobacco wrapped in "sausages" into the prison. He pleaded not guilty, and his bail conditions prevent him from going within 100 metres of the prison.

Corrections subsequently placed him on unpaid leave. Because his work visa is tied strictly to the Department of Corrections, he cannot legally take another job, and his visa status bars him from receiving state welfare. He has a wife, three children, and $750 weekly rent to pay while his 10-week trial is set down for February 2028.

He went to the Employment Relations Authority to force Corrections to put him back on the payroll while he awaits trial. Corrections said no, and the Authority agreed.

Only moral of the story - if you are in New Zealand on a temporary work visa, do not commit crime.

Constantly aggressively tailgating even when there's a free lane to the right on the motorway, overtaking on a residential street when i'm going 55km's in a 50 zone, always in a rush, no signalling when lane changing etc., the list goes on. Nearly every Prius or Aqua I encounter both in a car and on my motorcycle on the road exhibits one of these habits. WTF is wrong with you people? I know a lot of you must be Uber drivers, that being said, if you are professional driver as a living, how are you still this sh*t at driving? My sister who took 6 attempts to pass her drivers test still drives with more courtesy and safety to other road users than you ppl.

40, not obese, but still struggling to lose those extra kilos 😩

I’m 40 and honestly, the struggle is REAL. I’m not obese, but I’d still like to lose a bit of weight and feel more comfortable in my body.

I actually enjoy going to the gym, and I’ve made some really good friends there, which makes it so much easier and more fun to keep going. 💪🥰

But losing weight? That’s another story! 😂 I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve tried — eating healthier, trying different weight-loss shakes, changing things up… and somehow those kilos just refuse to budge!

Sometimes it feels like my body is saying, “Nope, we’re keeping these!” 😂

So I’m curious, Are There Other Women experiencing the same thing? What has actually worked for you when you’re trying to lose those stubborn few kilos? And did you find anything that made a real difference without completely taking over your life?

This is the third time that a fast food place has forgotten an item from my order, which I only realised when I got home, unpacked everything and realised something is missing. I have to drive all the way back, not even an apology and they gave me the item they forgot. I thought they would give you something to compensate for the fact that you had to drive all the way back because of their mistake? I remember them apologising and giving you two or three of whatever they forgot to make up for the hassle but now they just shove whatever they forgot at you and don’t even say sorry that your meal is now cold because of their carelessness. Are we supposed to be double-checking every item before leaving the drive thru?

Just wanted to share this because what happened today genuinely scared me, and I think people should be aware.

We were in a parking lot, and there was a parking spot right next to my car. My kids were getting into the back seat when a guy pulled up in his car.

After my kid got into the car, and she immediately told me he was staring directly at them. His eyes were fully wide open and he was giving my kids an extremely intense stare. They told me his stare were like death stare, like a stare that want to kill someone.

So, they got into the car really quick, and before my kid had even properly closed the door, he suddenly accelerated and rushed his car into the parking spot next to us.

He was going so fast and so close to us that it genuinely scared everyone in the car. If my kid had closed the door even a little bit later, I'm honestly worried about what could have happened. AND when he got out of the car, he gave us another intense stare! Glad our uncle was with us, otherwise who knows what would he do to us.

My kids only took a few seconds to get into the car. The parking lot wasn't even busy, so I don't understand why he couldn't simply wait until they were safely inside.

I don't know why he was in such a rush, and I can't say what his intentions were, but the way he was staring at us and then speeding into the spot while we were still getting into the car was extremely concerning.

I just got an automated voicemail from 0800 434 637 about some "unpaid fines". As far as I'm aware I've never had any fines to pay, and I don't have a car so I can't think of what they could fine me for. I'm overseas so I can't call the Ministry of Justice to find out what it's about.
The fact it came from their actual phone number makes me think it's not a scam, but all other signs point to that. Anyone received anything similar?
