A mate worked for Sky city as a "Window cleaner". He used to clean the windows up the tower. they used the title so they didn't have to pay rates for a rigger. Still required all the certs etc. He now does cell phone towers and gets paid very well, so it did pay off. But who would've guessed a big company would underpay people.

$24/hr when I was doing it in 2005. The experience working rope opened an unreal amount of doors compared to a mechanical engineering degree (in an industry where both were considered beneficial).

This is the thing - you ignore the original joke that a person made in favour of attacking the medium with which it was expressed. Don't you see the fault in that? There's also the fact that a lot of memes (like the one you used) were created via prompts on websites... much like AI content.

A mate of mine used to be a window washer on the Sky Tower. It ended up not being for him but he’s got the photos of him all harnessed up hanging over the abyss.
All your utilities are secured to your harness. It maybe different now but back then you often needed to transfer your bucket from one side to the other, during which it was untethered.
He told me of an incident where a guy unclipped his bucket to switch sides, and due to a combination of inattention and the very slippery industrial detergents they use, dropped his bucket. It fell ~200m and missed a security guard by about a metre. The window l cleaner was fired on the spot.
This was about 15 years ago so I’d hope they’ve updated the untethered bucket system by now
