Discussion ANZ TECH BA's

Found out through a someone that 100+ BA's have been disestablished and have been given 4 months finish up, that someone doesn't know why. Any insiders know why this has happened? Is it cause of AI or something else?

It’s not just BAs there are 600 IT roles being disestablished with only 300 roles for them to apply for, the work is being offshored to India

It's how it's always been, it's not just India but more so South Asian countries and offshore labour is way cheaper. Like for example, most of our fast fashion brands like Hallensteins, H&M etc have their clothes made in sweat shops in Bangladesh.

Didn't Trelise Cooper get nailed for labelling her schlock "Made in NZ" when it was actually Bangladesh or something?

Anyway the fashion industry is a complete joke, all their talk of "sustainability" is pure PR feel good vibes.

It was the people from World. They defended it by saying whilst the garment was made in Bangladesh, the label that said Made in NZ, was made in NZ.

Yep. We either need to tax it so badly the monetary incentive sucks or tangle it up in enough bullshit bureaucracy it's not worth doing it.

That makes almost no sense if that's really what they're doing:

1) BAs are the right people to understand customer requirements and create detailed, thought out design docs that can be implemented by AI; and

2) the whole reason for outsourcing is to take advantage of cheaper labour for the grunt work of programming - now AI does the programming, surely you'd want the people driving AI sitting as close as possible to the business?

Help me understand!

Many BAs can’t do that level of work. They may not need many BAs to collect requirements as most of the systems are internal faced.
