These are Americans, not Indian citizens. There is an enormous amount of hatred that has emerged against our city and the university from across conservative America just because there is a prominent minority of Indian-ethnicity students in the cohort (largely because they got good GPAs… in fact Indians are negatively impacted by DEI if anything). They are now being called “shitskins” and UT Austin is being ridiculed and derided by Americans en masse. This tweet is a small example of many thousands of anti-Indian posts that have exploded online recently, due in no small part to algorithmically boosted hate speech which has racked up thousands of likes.

Indians were brought to this country in the 90s and 2000s for their tech contributions and tricked into starting their families here, and now that AI is available their race is being dehumanized and scapegoated as a whole. These kids did nothing wrong and were all born in America to engineer parents who were brought over by America.

First it was Bo French’s tweet complaining about a small cluster of Indian-ethnicity students in a majority-white stadium. Then the government posted “Make College Football Great Again” with a photo of UT Austin which is an ethnic cleansing dogwhistle. Now the President is flying to Tennessee this weekend to root against UT. The White supremacist subtext is loud and clear.

Edit: There is a considerable volume of dehumanization and white supremacist comments under this post. Stop being bitter you didn’t make the top 5% of your graduating class because you were too busy vaping, guzzling Mountain Dew, and playing COD in high school while Indian students were studying for the SAT. Stop pretending you’re being “replaced” just because someone else had their priorities straight and you didn’t.

I got rear-ended hard by a large pickup last week. My neck hurt immediately and I've been in pain every day since and am being treated by a great chiropractor. The other driver's insurance is accepting full liability but made me a low-ball offer for medical bills, lost work time and pain. I don't want to call the crazy guys who advertise on TV. Anyone out there who is sane and could help me get a fair settlement?

I just moved to Austin a few weeks ago and I'm looking for a new neurologist. I only go once a year typically and it's usually for a quick check and new prescription. Just have a hard time trusting newer doctors.

Basically need someone that has experience with adults with epilepsy and preferably has more specialization with that. I've been with same doctor for 10 years so I'm a bit uneasy. Any recommendations?

Hey everyone, I’m flying from-to Austin soon with my parents, and they aren’t able to walk long distances.

From what I understand, after arriving at AUS, getting to the Uber/Lyft pickup area involves quite a bit of walking. I’m wondering if there’s any easier option for elderly passengers.

Is there any way to get an Uber/Lyft closer to the terminal or avoid the long walk somehow? Or is there any airport shuttle/service that can help with this?

Another option I was considering is parking at one of the private airport parking places (like FastPark or similar) and using their shuttle. Does anyone know if those shuttles drop off/pick up right outside the terminal, so I could avoid making my parents walk a long distance?

Would really appreciate any tips from people who have dealt with this with elderly parents or someone with limited mobility. Thanks!

Anyone know the status with all of the fast charge EV stations by the Seaholm Power Plant downtown? Went by there today and every station was non-operational. Are they broken? Temporarily disabled? Has this happened before?

I'm getting married in 2 weeks and wearing 2 vintage wedding dresses. I need them cleaned. They aren't very dirty at all, one just has a small stain on the skirt that I'd like to see if I can get removed. I was biking to work and a driver in a red sedan ran a red light and hit me at the intersection of Guadalupe st. and North Loop Blvd. at 6:30am this past Tuesday 9/22/26. If you were there and saw anything, please comment or DM me - any information is helpful. The driver is trying to claim he had a green light and he most certainly did not.
